However if the Bucks don't play with more passion and the playbook isn't opened up some,
they will be lucky to go 5-5 or 6-4.
Logan and Meigs are good teams and who knows how good Alex and Athens will be at the end of the season.
I agree 110%

The coaches aren't happy and the kids are very frustrated..........
Something needs to change.

River Valley fans ...

Does #30 and #45 from last year still play - or did they graduate?

If they still play I need their names so I can attach them to a photo.

Thanks

By the same token, the recent success at Athens HS probably pulls fringe players down to The Plains. After all, Athens and Trimble have both gone WAAAAAY deep in the playoffs lately. Somebody had to be the loser in that equation because Athens County only has a finite number of football players.
Apparently getting players that would never see the field at NY was not enough for the wee cats this year.
Why does every Nelsonville York thread turn into a Trimble vs NY rivalry?
Trimble was State Runner up, what is the deepest that Nelsonville York ever gone in the playoffs? I think they are the great pretenders. Plus NY is twice he size of Trimble? What is the over all record?
Why don't you just make a daily Nelsonville York vs Trimble Rivalry thread? leave everyone else alone? I'll do it for you!

I agree its, NY vs RV

But just to be clear, Nelsonville-York is not much bigger than Trimble (maybe 40 or 50 more boys) - and they have won a state championship.

I like when a TEAM is losing its always the coaches fault. I personally think The entire Boston family are great coaches. I would say right now the kids are just soft. I mean come on man they just barely beat a weak wee cats team who has a swiss cheese like defense.

With your vast knowledge of football it shocks me you didn't know that NY had actually won a state championship.

Well..... you haven't been right yet or even close.
Ex Raider hoping that RV loses because he is now a Marauder, lol. but your kids go to GA? I guess your keeping all options open.
Will you be mowing Bartrum's yard this week?
Oh forgot weren't you on the (vaunted 03 team at RV?)

Wooo Hooo Yea, Buddy!
you posted and got so torn up you posted again

RV 20
NY 16
Here he goes again. Sorry I picked against your Raiders. This Raider team is good. I don't hope they lose I just don't think they will win this week. Are you butt hurt? In case you haven't noticed, nobody takes anything you say seriously because you have nothing to add to any type of actual football discussion. All you can do is insult people and look like a jackass. I wouldn't be too shocked if RV won this week, but unlike you I make predictions on observations and knowledge, not fantasy guessing. As far as where my kids go to school, what's it to you? They go to an elementary school in Gallipolis City schools because it's convenient for our situation. Also, I tend to feel they are the best academic elementary school in the county. But none of that is really your business. Why don't you try not being an a-hole.

As for 2003, we played 4 playoff teams that year beat 1 (NY) and played close games with the others. The only team we lost to that year that was not a playoff team was South Point. It was an inexcusable loss. Overall, yeah I'd say we were pretty darn good. These guys are good too. I'm not ready to say NY is a bad team yet. They beat Trimble for goodness sake, and losing to Newark Catholic in overtime! How terrible! Give me a break.

Love too, but it looks like I have a stalker.

As for practice, I would say RV worked on airing it out because that's how they can beat NY. NY will be the first team RV has seen this year that is as physical as them up front. How will they respond?

The "swagger" will be gone from RV as they walk off Dave Boston Field after the game Friday night. Davey is spitting nails mad this week. One thing for sure, those Buckeyes will be hitting this week, and someone might just be spitting out some teeth. Someone kicked the bee hive so look out TVC Ohio, the Bucks are back.

The main problem I see with NY is both lines are over-matched most of the time. Once the defense is through the O-line... which is pretty quick, Hunter starts to look for running holes, and the pass is forgotten. Not his fault, and the line needs to hold blocks better to improve the running and passing games. On D, Liberty Center would run one receiver, and he would be fifteen yards open every time. Our DBs need better coaching IMO.

Hope they come around this week.

I have been there several times, but it is only basically once a year! lol
