Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
They need too fold the program. Kids don't want too play the game any more.
The kids that do want too play, can transfer to another school.

If you fold it then any kids that want to play at all will leave. The younger kids will start peeling away because there is no program and you would want to start playing with those boys early. You have to rough it out and try to build. I am afraid it will be hard. If kids didn't show up to play for a coach as good as Ted then what will get them out there.

I think it's his assistants that made everyone quitWatson40 wrote: Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:39 pm If you fold it then any kids that want to play at all will leave. Green had 13 players last night, they had two players that got hurt last night. Down to 11 players, time to cancel the rest of the season.

That is a shame.Seabee_0586 wrote: Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:48 pmI think it's his assistants that made everyone quitWatson40 wrote: Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:39 pm If you fold it then any kids that want to play at all will leave. Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
The numbers for green are bad across the board, people can mention kids go here or they go there. Green however doesn't even have a 5/6 grade pee wee team, so it's not like these kids are just leaving come high school they simply aren't playing.

Kids aren't lazy at other schools, even smaller programs. They need some PR work.

I'm talking peewee level ask the kids in 5-6 grade at green and they will tell you they would rather be playing video games and yes that is called lazy

Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
You might be right, they probably would answer that question by saying video games. However, if you see your high school team getting beat like it is and the numbers they have. There's no high school interaction with these young kids to help shape the program and get kids interested. So where does the kid sitting at home get the inspiration to want to come out and play for Green??? Big programs, small programs they have kids playing football and playing video games, they also have interaction with their kids at a young age. Teams are having pee wee programs come out onto the field and get introduced on Friday nights, the high school players are showing interest in the youth program, the high school coaches need to have that same interaction. You start a program from the ground up, you don't wait till it's matured and then try to teach it to walk when other teams around you are running at that point. There's just no way of catching up like that.Seabee_0586 wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2017 8:59 pm I'm talking peewee level ask the kids in 5-6 grade at green and they will tell you they would rather be playing video games and yes that is called lazy

I believe the program as gone too far to recover. With only seven 7 graders on the Jr. High team,
and no 6 grade team, means no JR.High team next year.

Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
Any word on Greens health/numbers ? They can be proud of the effort the kids put forth but if there are only 11 healthy eligible kids you cannot play a game . Need a few subs. Lose a few kids to injury against Northwest and they’d have to forfeit. It’s a shame..

I love the Bobcats too, but it's time to fold the program. Cancel the last two games, lets keep the kids safe.
