2018 TVC-Ohio Football

Nelsonville-York has won the TVC about 50% of the time since 1970. Everyone else combined has won the other 50%. Since Athens joined the TVC, either NY or Athens has won the TVC every year except the year Alexander won it.

Just going off the law of averages, it is highly probable that either NY or Athens will win the TVC in any given year.

Wellston will finish around 5-5. We will hear about how good they should be this year come August and then they get their automatic loss week one and then they struggle to be consistent... Same story every year.

Well, let's toss out the NY anomaly of 2017 and look in the mirror from say 2013-2016 for NY. What those four seasons you were 19-21? So before launching into some sarcasm may want to realize you were below a .500 program as well. Nice job in 2017 though, hats off. IDK just a hunch I get the sense Week 1 may be different in 2018, next fall could be the year to get them before the series ends for awhile. As I said earlier could be the year we get to 7-3 or better.

The Jackson-Wellston series is NOT ending anytime soon. Way too much money is made from this game. Neither school can justify walking away from it.

I wouldn't be so sure about that statement. Gate can easily be made up in other ways and they have been presented, not to mention many people in the Wellston school district and the community want it to end. The powers that be will make the final decision but, it is and has been a topic of discussion for the past three seasons among the board and AD.

To the topic at hand, I say NY or Athens. With a strong fight for 3rd between VC and Wellston.

Do what Ironton does. Take a bye week after your big game vs Trimble and lower your divisor by only playing 9 games.

You are better off not playing anyone than playing an (0-10) team or even a (1-9) team.

According to another thread, Ironton has an open date week 2. Wouldn’t mind seeing that series be renewed. Travel is a little far either way but I think it would be worth it.

What a killer schedule River Valley has. They could start out 0-6. Didnt think there program was at that level yet. Is SG their week 10 since they dropped them in the jamboree game?

Definitely an "upgraded" schedule for the Raiders. Hopefully the close to 20 member Sophomore class that saw a WHOLE LOT of playing time in 2017, gets better as Juniors in 2018.

As far as I know, yes South Gallia is the week 10 opponent. It will be at RV. Also I believe the week 3 game against Portsmouth is at Portsmouth, not Home.
