Joe Paterno once suggested that if you did away with the face mask that would take the head out of the game. The face mask has enabled the helmet to be used as a weapon in football.

I understand no one likes the idea of having side effects from doing something we like. Thousands upon thiusands have played football and some have been impacted with brain injury. If it were purely the result of playing football wouldn’t more people be effected? I think some are more susceptible than others just like every thing else. There’s always “two hand touch”.

I would like for them to go back to the leather helmets that they used to play with. Either that or styrofoam helmets. I think it would help of concussions.
