Symmes Valley fans making the long trek to this game should be advised about potential issues with local traffic on the evening of the game.

The Millersport Sweet Corn Festival will be happening that night. I’m not too sure what local road closures, if any, will happen; but, expect to build in an extra 15-20 minutes into your trip, just in case.

I’ll probably go to this one.

There is no doubt Fairfield Christian should be more competitive than it was a year ago, but Turner thinks winning the first game against Landmark Christian, will be a tone-setter for the rest of the season.

“We have to get Game 1 because that will set the tone for the season,” Turner said. “It shows the kids that nothing they have gone through in the past two years has gone in vain. I’ve seen them grow a lot just as people, but they need to see themselves grow as competitors and they need to see victories. I really think Week 1 will set the tone for the rest of the season.

FCA had a very, very miserable year last year. Hannan (WV) is kicking themselves for not getting them into the schedule. Last week, FCA lost to the club team... really bad, too. This week may be bad, too. Next week is going to be lamb to the slaughter, wow.

A lot of props, respect and well wishes to the FCA players. They are sticking with it. Good kids, too. Unfortunately, the current crop of kids is karmically paying back what was brought onto them by the teams of the early 2010’s. There’s going to be some really loud cheering, sadly, when GCC, BU, FC etc blow complete holes through them.

Can any Symmes Valley fans tell me why they will travel so far to play a team they know they can beat, but yet they will play no Lawrence county team? Other then peake they go a good distance for most games... I get that most games are conference games I just wonder what benefit this weeks game is?

They don't have the numbers to compete with the bigger schools in the County right now. Playing all bigger schools would equal even less numbers due to injurys. I'm glad they got South Gallia on the schedule. Southern or Eastern would be nice if we could get them back on instead of FCC.

They have played South Point, Rock Hill, Fairview , River Valley and bigger schools though. They just had more numbers then.

I would like to see them play coal grove. I know this year Cg was 1 or 2 boys away from being D7 and next year will most likely be D7.

And how is oak hill still in the soc division with the smaller schools they an all around good athletic program and are 2 divisions bigger then everyone in their part of the conference except northwest
