I heard by many out in Minford they are checking on it. Just running down all expenses Any truth? It would be nice to see it happengreygoose wrote: Fri Sep 28, 2018 9:51 amYes, it would be awesome if all schools had 500,000-750,000 sitting around.Burgfan/grad85 wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:19 pm Wish every school had the money for turf hopefully Minford is already in the process of doing some fund raisers and saving money to install turf in The near future hopefully West is also

I think the point he is making is, turf fields are the future. Valley has had theirs quite a while now and if schools would have started saving a decade ago it wouldn't be as big of a burden to pay for. I know the smaller area schools probably wont ever have that luxury, but the West/Minford/Northwest size schools should really start looking for ways to make it happen. I know Northwest will start their new complex at the conclusion of the fall sports season.greygoose wrote: Fri Sep 28, 2018 9:51 amYes, it would be awesome if all schools had 500,000-750,000 sitting around.Burgfan/grad85 wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:19 pm Wish every school had the money for turf hopefully Minford is already in the process of doing some fund raisers and saving money to install turf in The near future hopefully West is also
Jackson makes you pay to park! If you have 25 home sporting events (Football & Basketball) and charge $2 per car to park. At 200 cars (Probably have double that on football games) that equals out to be $10,000 a year and $100,000 in 10 years. That would be a great start to paying for a Turf Field. Combine that with some other fund raisers and search the community for donors.

West lack of offensive production will keep Minford around. Will be a close one could go either way

whats the injury situation with west ? heard bradford is out
Re: Portsmouth West (4-1) @ Minford (5-0)
Dylan Bradford is out for at least tonight. I’m not sure how serious it is, but from what I have heard he may be missing a few weeks minimum.
Re: Portsmouth West (4-1) @ Minford (5-0)
Minford still one year away. West line just too much tonight. Great game by both squads and hope all those injured recover to full health

Good hard fought game. West is just a little better up front but Minford is getting there.
Defensively Minford needs to tackle much better. The coaches had them in position but the high hits and no wrapping up doesnt work on a back like Hurd.
Good luck to West the rest of the year and hopefully Minford can put this one behind them and regroup.

With the game tonight, you can tell West has spent a little more time in the weight room. Minford needs another year on the squat rack. B/c they just got their asses flat out whipped in the trenches, this should be a big eye opener for Minford's big boys up on the line to get their butts in a power lifting program this winter.

Hurd even sold tickets pregame and hot dogs at halftime! Minford is better than in past years, still a year away.

Good analysis fellas you should be on espn, still 16 year old kids out there they will be fine. Minford was in the game all night and had opportunities to win. I think minford proved they aren’t pushovers in my eyes.

Minford is better than they played, but west took advantage of that and did just a little more to win.
Re: Portsmouth West (4-1) @ Minford (5-0)
I hope that official is ok! Guy took a pretty hard hit! This game was fun to watch as an outsider. I thought both teams played well. Good physical game.

Nailed it. Also Minford didn't hit like the good teams of old, and West did. Still a great game by both.

A lot of arm tackling they were in position just have to make the play. All in all minford will be fine, learn from it and come back stronger.West Side Pride wrote: Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:30 pmBondRoad Bandit wrote: Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:49 pmLine play is what I believe it will come down to the most.West Side Pride wrote: Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:12 pm That may be a part of it but there is a little more to it than that, what if neither lose a possession? Re: Portsmouth West (4-1) @ Minford (5-0)
If West is gonna win games it's not gonna look pretty no matter who the quarterback is. West plays solid defense. Ball control / clock management is part of the defense. There will be alot of teams like Minford that can't stop the run, that it will work. There will be times that its tougher, but that's the way it is. Doesn't mean West can't pass the ball or run some spread, but just looking at the skill of the players, that isn't their strength. Thing is West kids love that style, grew up playing it, and they buy into it.
