No dog in this fight , but yes last years success was due to a very talented senior class which deny all you want was developed and conditioned by Coach Kidd, Coal Grove like many schools and fans around here want continued success for their program but don't know or understand that instant success isn't always reality ,New Coaches that have a successful first year is due to the development of players by the last Coach, and unless the community is willing to tolerate 4 to five years of developing a program success is limited, a Coach has to not only use the athletes he inherits but has to have the time to go as far as the little league up to get interest and involvement in his program , most schools and parents don't seem to have that patience, Coal Grove got spoiled when Coach Evan took over a very talented team and was successful and when this season didn't compare here comes the critics, for whatever reason Coach Evan made a decision on what's best for himand andI his family, there is no fault in a man doing that,

I don't see this happening. That bridge was burned really good by the board. I can't see him putting himself in that situation again.

He returned last time when the cupboard was loaded in the lower grades. According to insiders this isn’t the case now. Go find someone who’s committed to CG for the long-term. That person may not always win the interview 🤔

Evan Ferguson just got done Addressing the football players and in quotes "Its the best job for me moving foward" and "there's more to the situation than what you've been hearing." This is a primary source from someone who was there to listen to his comments and speech to the team. Personally I think that we'll get a new coach not heard of before, or a middle school or person like Travis Waulk in the community who loves the program will step up, not Jay Lucas or Kidd.

I sure hope everything works out for the Hornets. They have a great tradition in football. I can see several qualified candidates applying for this position. I hope the school board gets it right.

Especially when you build something special and win a league title in your first year. Get the kids to buy in and then walk out a year later. SMH.

What a sellout.
Boyd county has not been noted for football for a while, but back in the 60's-the mid 70's they made a few appearances in the state playoffs. They used to beat Ashland, Russell, and Huntington high during that time as well. After Scott left the team spiraled out of control and they never gave another coach more than a couple years to achieve success. So the program stayed in the toilet and kids became uninterested. If Ferguson does not pull off a miracle at BC his time there will be short lived. In the four years I was there in the late 70's there were 3 different coaches.

Is he a techer?
Maybe Boyd county has better pay.
You gotta pay the bills regardless of if you are a coach or not.
