They also have a kid that moved in from Piketon that should be a big help in the backfield as well.

Re: 2019 Returners
Johnstown Returns 6 on D (DE, DE, DT, OLB, OLB, CB) plus 2 players from O that rotate at DT & DE/OLB and 5 on O (TE, OG, OG, WR, WR) plus 4 players that rotated on O (FB, WR, TE, WR) (so 10 total players only one that played primarily both ways, So. #32 was TE/DE). Hoping #82 comes back after taking a year to focus on basketball.
While there is no clear cut starter at QB and RB those two positions will need to get filled quickly, but there cupboard is not bare.
I would expect 3 players with varsity experience to compete at QB plus an upcoming freshman, the one Jr. WR also has some QB experience.
Sr. #13, Jr. #3, So. #2 and Jr. #15 plus a really good upcoming freshman will compete for the job and the rest will move to the next position.
At RB there are 3 players with Varsity experience that will compete with a junior who was academically ineligible for most of last season. Sr. #4, Jr. #3, & So.#2 and Jr. #31 will compete with other players as there is also a really good freshman coming up and a sophomore that did not play last year. Competing at RB and QB will be #3 & #2 ho walso has some RB experience. Sr. #45 has FB experience past two seasons.
The two toughest positions to replace on the field will be #55 and #75. Those two guys were legit. #75 had West Point interested, but he enrolled in the Army instead. #55 is going to do track/throwing in college. I think there may be a couple of players that did not play last year that will be coming out and there are some good young players working hard, but there is no replacement for experience. Competition is good!
