Totally agree 14U.14U wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:40 pmMy opinion only, but I see burg coaches going back to the drawing board knowing 2 starters out for yearQB,RB with Mathews week by week working either one of true QB’s for Ashland and SOC play. Burg could put a 8-2 record going into a week 11. Masters looked good when he came in second half from what I saw on live feed.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 1:23 am Hartley will win easily and Ashland should beat them the next week. Burg should still win the conference barring anymore injuries to key players in the next couple weeks. If Mathews returns later in the year I would think by that time the QB situation would be resolved and he would not be put in harm's way at that position but the coach will decide that. He's only around 5'9" and a buck 70 anyway and it don't take a rocket scientist to figure out who the other team is coming after first if he's back there taking the snaps. If a freshman or sophomore has to step it up at that position it is trial by fire but they'll get the experience early. They definitely layed an egg in the first half friday night and this week won't be any better. We'll see how they progress before playoff time .
14 looked the part Friday. He’s allusive when he scrambles. Needs to learn when to get what he can and get down or out instead of forcing into tight windows.
7 has a big arm and looks good reading d but struggles with touch.
They will make the right decision.

Re: Bishop Hartley @ Wheelersburg
ironton did it for decades. sorry but I have to disagree. you all are fresh off a state title. that is nothing but impairative to have your team grow through trials. and that only happens with better scheduling. the last year ironton/Hartley played ironton won the regular season game, and Hartley won the rematch, I think at logan. and the played desales, Watterson and beechwood, ky. a lot of teams like that. it will pay dividends. look burg stubbed their toes Friday. but hit's still the burg.

trust me nobody wants the pirates to win this one more than ''fighting tiger'' fans. I'm sorry to hear that about the burg player. it sounds like he was fortunate at least it wasn't a break.

Yes they will. Burg will be ok just one tough non conference schedule but that happens when you can’t find anyone to play your team. I remember not that long ago Ironton had that problem travel 2 plus hours for a game. We you’re down they line up but when you’re power they run!! Burg fans need to remember that their QB is out for season and next true QB is either a Sophomore or Freshman. You put there strength and weaknesses down but alittle playing time will fix that up. If the burg coaches decide on one they will have 3-4 years with them and good backup and not be in the situation like this year! Like I put on many topics burg will be fine and enter playoffs 8-2. I see rematch coming up and a true QB. You know Burg wasn’t running on all cylinders but at 10-6 that fumble that went in burgs hands and bounced out could have changed that game, you know? Scoring and then recovering at midfield, wow!Jack Sparrow wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 3:05 pmTotally agree 14U.14U wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:40 pmMy opinion only, but I see burg coaches going back to the drawing board knowing 2 starters out for yearQB,RB with Mathews week by week working either one of true QB’s for Ashland and SOC play. 8-2 is not unfathomable but 7-3 is more likely. We'll see what shakes out in the next couple weeks.14U wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:40 pmMy opinion only, but I see burg coaches going back to the drawing board knowing 2 starters out for yearQB,RB with Mathews week by week working either one of true QB’s for Ashland and SOC play. Yes I can see 7-3 or 8-2 either way they’re in to make a nice season for them. It’s not what they’re used to but when you play 3 studs in a row that’s what happens sometimes. I guess it’s better than putting teams you can beat 50 plus to nothing starters out at half. Can’t get better playing teams like that plus record looks good but at the end they will be in same place at 10-0 (top playing weak teams)or 7-3, 8-2 middle of the pack in top 8 in region!FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 3:48 pm8-2 is not unfathomable but 7-3 is more likely. That game would’ve been interesting if 6 stays on that fumble. And ik if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.14U wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 3:46 pmYes they will. 2 weeks ago they wanted to schedule the New England Patriots lol.
What happened to "we have to schedule big schools away from here to find a challenge"?

One loss and the mommas of Wheelersburg going after the coaching staff on social media? Not a good look.
I think Burg’s D will keep them in the one a while, but with Matthews it won’t be close for 4 quarters.
