Not on any individual play. If he is drawing that type of attention in college than he's elite. Wilburn is incredible in space vs one or two defenders, he's a natural route runner and has good hands. He runs a 4.5 for god's sake. He's already NFL speed. Literally. That 4.5 is laser-timed and reported by SPARQ. But 4 tacklers, plus all the attention in the world, plus the ball not even being in his hands, leads to -9 yards. It isn't his ability. Replace Wilburn with Unioto's Jamarcus Carrol,(held under 70 yards by Vinton County) is the result that different. What if Northwestern's Trae Williams (former Athens RB) were in the backfield/out wide instead of Wilburn? You think he'd have done better? No. Trimble was THAT good. THAT dominant against every player. None of this determines Wilburn's success at the next level. If it did he wouldn't have gotten any offers like he did because Trimble shut him down last year too. Wilburn's success will be determined by his work ethic while at Ohio University. He has the natural talent, it can be seen in his measurables, 40-time, shuttle, cone, bench, etc. it's all of D1/Power 5 caliber. So it's about his work. His study of the game. His attitude. That's what will decide it. Not the Trimble Tomcats.Bone dust wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 1:55 pmJust want to ask this if he is going to play in the Mac don't you think he will see more the 4 good tackles just askingmoorelukas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 11:49 amThis is a ridiculous speculation. There's no evidence for it. Both the scared of getting hit, and not wanting the ball. How do you know he didn't want the ball? There's no way you can watch from the stands and say that. And if Wilburn is scared of getting hit then Braden Bellville must be scared of getting hit too when Trimble shut him down. All those All-State players Trimble beat to death in the playoffs must be scared of getting hit too. I watched him lean into a hit from Cam Kittle on one of his about 5 touches. The game plan would be to blame for not getting Keegan the ball, not Keegan, he isn't calling plays. On his future at OU? The Bobcats LOVE Wilburn. They think he's going to be a highly effective slot receiver in the MAC. That's what THEY think, in the recruiting rooms. How bad were Alfonso Cobb's (Fed Hock Alum) numbers against Trimble? Where's he playing? Oh yeah. Oregon. Wilburn is only 190, he can't get through 4 Trimble defenders who are some of the best tacklers in the state.Shotgun red wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:25 pm
The plan was probably originally to give the ball to #3 but it was blatantly obvious that he didn't want it. The kid is scared of contact. I'm sure he looks really good in a 7 on 7 passing scrimmage but last night was no passing scrimmage.

Also, I'm watching through the film now. Keegan is asking for the ball on nearly every play. Hands up, ready to receive and He takes two big licks that he leans into.

So your saying that trae Williams the same trae that beat St Vincent St Marys stubanville and had positive yards against every D3 team they played all the way through the playoffs clear to the state title wouldn't have got a yard against trimble ?moorelukas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 3:25 pmNot on any individual play. There were 10 other players on the field that night. 4 other division one players. So yes. Well I guess it looks good for the tomcats this year being there are no other D1 running backs to go up against and if D1 running backs have negative yards not much gonna happen on the ground with any other running backsmoorelukas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 5:12 pmThere were 10 other players on the field that night. 4 other division one players. Re: Nelsonville York @ Trimble 2019
For all these Trimble fans saying that Wilburn isn’t a legit D1 player... why did Trimble have 3-4 guys on him all night? They sure treated him like a D1 player.

Uhhh.. well teams couldn’t really afford to triple team Williams when they had to deal with Burrow, the luherman Twins, saltzman, etc.
You’re comparing apples to oranges.

It looked to me trimble was in a defense for the spread offense not 3 on wilburn that is called coverages and if they was man fouts was on him so maybe watch the game againRealist wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:41 pmBone dust wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 4:16 pmSo your saying that trae Williams the same trae that beat St Vincent St Marys stubanville and had positive yards against every D3 team they played all the way through the playoffs clear to the state title wouldn't have got a yard against trimble ?moorelukas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 3:25 pm

Looked like a spread defense with spy on Wilburn. Definitely didn’t see him double covered or even triple covered all game.
