WK 5 River @ Barnesville (3-1)
Should be a good one. Schools haven't met in 30 years and only 40 miles apart.

They played River's 10-0 year in '97 then again a few years later. It's a long 40 miles.
Re: WK 5 River @ Barnesville (3-1)
Barnesville and River have played since the '' 40 years " that was mentioned in this topic, Coach Flannery has been at river 15 years and they played Barnesville when he was coaching at River. It has been a while but not 40 years. River joined the PVC and that started to move of non -conference games. Glad to see them on the schedule. Barnesville always plays hard and it was a good game.

Okay, 22 years but it seems like '40' lolGhostOfHomer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 5:23 pm They played River's 10-0 year in '97 then again a few years later. It's a long 40 miles.
I just remember a former Shamrock AD didn't schedule River in football.

2004 was the last meeting.
I remember about every time they have got together, there has been verbal altercations with coaches during and after the game.

With River getting some wins under their belt, it'll help with their confidence heading into this game. I believe River can come away with an upset in this game, but Barnesville like everyone has said, may be hungry for a comeback victory.

It is possible that River can finish 7-3. Only Shadyside on the remainder of their schedule might be better. River wins this game, their skill players are fast and talented.

Can't believe so many picking River. This game will be close.
Barnesville wins this if QB Hannahs doesn't turn it over.
Big game for both.

River's stubborness with XPs will cost them in any close game.
Huge road win, though!
