Re: WK 10 John Marshall (3-5) @ Warren (6-3)
Going to be a tough one for Warren.
John Marshall physically dominated Warren last year. Saw that they only returned 3 on offense and 5 on defense this year, but they still appear to have some hosses on the line.
On offense, it will come down to protecting the QB. The constant pressure and sloppy penalties have hurt all season. I would estimate Warren converted about 10 3rd and longs, several over 10 yards against Alexander. Can’t count on digging out of a hole like that on every possession over the long haul. With time to throw or even a little room to scramble, the offense is difficult to stop. But, the inconsistency is a major flaw.
Warren will be challenged on defense again. Story has been the same most of the season. Still prone to big plays on the ground and I would guess JM is going to try and run down Warren’s throat. Defense has come up with a few big stops when they needed to (to get the ball back with a chance to win against Williamstown and holding Alexander to FGs on their last two possessions), but again, the inconsistency and giving up big plays has been costly in the losses.

Can the Warriors reach 7 wins in a season for the first time since 2009??
Re: WK 10 John Marshall (3-5) @ Warren (6-3)
We would’ve had to go 9-1 or 10-0 and even then would have likely been a 6-8 seed. Just not very many points on the schedule this year.

Dont know much about JM. Warren is mathematically eliminated, but regardless how this one plays out, 6-4, or 7-3, this season has been a huge step in the right direction. Great season for warren and something to build on going forward.

On Friday night, QB Kurt Taylor and WR Evan Gandee both broke records at their respective positions. Taylor broke his dad’s single season passing mark with a 352 yd performance, bringing him to 2,536 yards on the year. Gandee set the single season receptions and yards record, which brings him to 70 catches for 995 yds on the season with a chance to become the first 1,000 yd receiver in school history.

Did Evan also set a single game record for receptions?beg003 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 11:31 am On Friday night, QB Kurt Taylor and WR Evan Gandee both broke records at their respective positions. Very rare for John Marshall to play an Ohio school of this size. Usually play Bellaire which is basically across the river.
JM has a heckuva run game and the Monarchs are still in the running for a AAA playoff berth.
Will go with whichever team can score 5 times will win.

Wouldn't call John Marshall soft. They are big and will lean on smaller teams. Even when you beat them, you generally get beat up. I would give JM the edge against Warren most years, but not this year.
Re: WK 10 John Marshall (3-5) @ Warren (6-3)
Again and again. Warren has to stop the run game of John Marshall. Warren still giving up quite a few yards on the ground. Defense has gotten better but man they need to step it up against a good running John Marshall team. Make them beat Warren through the air, and Warren will win.
Great year for the boys in blue!! It’s been a lot of fun watching them. I think they have scored almost 50 touchdowns this year. I remember a couple years or so ago when they would be lucky to score 2 or 3 per year.
Good luck to all and go Blue!!
