1992 Ironton v Dupont Box Score

I know Dupont lost 3 or 4 that year but won the state championship in Moss's Soph season. They also won the next state championships as well and prob had the best team in 1993. They had more than just Moss that team was loaded with D1 guys but Ironton had a good group at that time also. Following would like to see what happened as well

What position did Jason Williams play? I know basketball was his sport and played in NBA. It’s been long time ago but thought I heard his name mention on that team.

Jason Williams didn't play football in high school. He was a qb for Dupont jr high though. The quarterbacks were Mike floyd in 92 and Keith Fout in 93

Ironton played them back to back years in either 91 and 92 or 92-93. I remember ironton winning the 1st matchup at ironton 35-0 and winning the 2nd matchup at dupont with Randy Moss scoring the only touchdown in that game for dupont and i think the score was 27-8 or very close to that. This is all from memory and i could be mistaken but in the 1st matchup at ironton, Dupont had a huge lineman i thought was eric moss. I could be mistaken. Guy was probably 6' 7" or 6' 8" and played tackle or guard. He looked to be slightly taller than Walt Delong.

At Ironton 1991 35-0. Eric Moss would have been a senior. He was a fb/lb in high school- around 6’3 240. DuPont went 6-5 that season.

At Rand 1992 29-6. Randy Moss would have been a Sophomore/1st high school season. DuPont went 11-3 and won the AAA state title.

Based on what I remember ironton did not play DuPont in 1991. They played Dunbar wva at ironton which ironton won 35-0. I do remember Eric moss playing at ironton But I am not sure if he played in that game. Ironton only played DuPont one year. 1992. This was Randy Moss soph year as I remember and ironton won 29-6. And moss scored their only td. (Missed ex pt). I don’t remember them playing again I know in 1993. Ironton played hunt high but that was the only wva school on their schedule that year. I remember in 1989 they played a Huntington high team that had Shannon king and another kid who’s name I can’t remember, but both went on to star at Marshall. Ironton beat them 37-23 in a great game at The old Fairfield stadium

We scrimmaged them in basketball my sophomore year. Williams and Moss were pretty ridiculous. The other 5 or 6 that played weren’t shabby either.

Also on that same FB and basketball team was Bobby Howard (I think). Maybe a fb/lb.
Played lb at Notre Dame and in the NFL with the Bears.
Wasn’t Eric Moss Randy’s brother? Maybe a cousin?
Did he sign with Ohio State?
I have the DuPont vs Beckley Woodrow Wilson AAA championship basketball game on vhs somewhere in the house. It would Moss, Williams and Howard’s senior season.

Eric Moss played at Ohio State then a year or two for the Vikings. He played tackle 6'4" 315.

I have a print out from the ironton athletic dept that I have have for about 20 years now it has all of irontons games each season that goes back to 1902 and my paper says Dunbar wva in 1991. Mine could be a just a typing error or maybe they were referred to as Dunbar in 1991. I would say we are talking about the same team in 91, don’t know, I was surprised my info didn’t show DuPont either. I remember Eric moss playing in the tank because I remember being at that game and I remember being surprised at what different players Randy and Eric were. That’s no disrespect to Eric. He was a good player. But there has not been many Randy moss’s thru the years.
