Ya know what I seen against Kirtland?

I seen a team that was a step slow at every position get beat on their assignments, tackles and coverages. I seen a Kirtland LB core that LIVED in Irontons backfield, AND I seen Kirtlands ability to disrupt make Irontons offense one dimensional. They dominated Irontons run game and made Carrico and Salyers look lumbering and slow. They exposed Irontons secondary and they are not even a pass oriented team by any stretch. And as I understand it, Kirtland hasnt lost a step. Ironton is gonna need to get better in the next few weeks. This game will def help.

And of all that you said good about Kirtland and bad about Ironton. I still 110% believe that if the first half ended differently the game would have as well. The end of the 1st half set the rest of the game up. Kirtland coaches got to go into 1/2time dumping gas on a raging fire. Ironton went into 1/2needed brought back morale wise. At a state championship game talents there. Period. Neither team would’ve gotten there without some serious well coached talent. Who wins the game inside the game wins overall. Blocking tackling EXECUTE!!! They’ll get it. And they have gotten it.

To think back that at the end of 2017 clear to the end of the 2018 school year with NO COACH is flat impressive. Wasn’t Pendleton hired in June of 2018??? To 17mnths later in a state championship game ?? That’s gettin it done !! I so hope the kids get another crack at em here in the next 90days.

The stats showed a team ( kirtland) who controlled the line of scrimmage as well as the game, for 4 quarters. Only the score itself was close.
Well stats are a lot like bikinis. Show a lot but not every thing.
(I saw that posted some where on preps and thought it was a lil wity. ) ha. But it is fitting !

Ironton played with a lot of heart. And never gave up. And that alone kept the score close. I-Town be just fine.

Shoot I wish s I could belly ache gripe complain and all the above why we got beat in a State Championship Game. Best we can up to 2020 is Regional Runners-Up. And only twice for that. Hang in there SpeedKlz. It ain’t all that bad to be a Tiger fan. 😬

6'5 - 330
6'5 - 290
6'0 - 275
6'1 - 260
6'0 - 270

8/28 H - Lakota East — (2-3) -[I:4) - W 34-31
9/4 A - Princeton ——-—(4-1) - [I:4] - L 22-27
9/11 H - Lakota West - (4-0) - [I:4] - L 0-33
9/18 A - Mason ————- (4-1) - [I:4] - L13-21
9/25 H - Colerain ——— (3-2) - (1-4) - L 7-21
Judging by those scores I wouldn't be taking this D1 school lightly. Especially when you take into consideration these guys have been playing other D1 level competition and Ironton has been taking on lowly OVC play.

No doubt about it, they won't be a pushover. They have size on the O Line and a good RB, the D has good speed and get to the ball quick. This should be a good game.

BIG!!!!!!

But I believe the tigers will be fine. This is exactly what they need. Win lose or draw. This team is TWICE what they was going to get from South Point.....whoever got it scheduled knows what they were needing and looking for.

Does Ironton have to travel now to Cincinnati?

Or Is this Cincinnati team coming to Ironton ?

We really have no idea how good Ironton is... this should help determine this. We all know I Town is good just how good? They played OVC teams all year long so we really do not know. This will be the first and last game all year they play a team with this much size, depth, & talent. We’re talking about D1 in Ohio a tough one.

This is a great pick up for Ironton. Kudos to Coach Pendleton in finding this game quickly. I’m
just glad the opponent school didn’t not wait yet another day to cancel.
Excited to see Ironton play a bigger school from
outside of southern Ohio. It’s also exciting for our area, as not many D1 schools take on southern/southeastern ohio schools in football. This is always great for the program and the community.

I’ll take Ironton 31-21

Bad news is the Tigers are going to get blasted

Good news is Irontons concession will be open with pizza and hot dogs.

Will the piss boys be out in the parking lot partying it up ?

One of their best linemen (#77) has the nasty edge to him. Watching highlights, after every pancake block he has, he steps over the defender or gets in their face when they get up. Hopefully the tigers can either get in his head and make him a head case, or one of the linebackers knock his d*ck in dirt. He’s good, I ain’t taking that away from the kid, but looks pretty classless to me. As for the rest of their offense..... Jimmy Johns style. They are freaky fast.
Good luck Tigers! Safe to say you’ve got all of SEO interested in this match up!! Send’em with a long bus ride home wondering why they ever made the trip to I-Town!

This is a decent pick up at best. If they wanted to beat their chests they should have looked to northeast Ohio for a challenge. But we've seen in the past how Ironton shies away from looking to the north just as they did by ducking Logan.

In a word.....NO! These teams down south look slow on film. Ironton needs the challenge of speed that can only be found in the northeast side of the state.
