Since I attended and played at both I’ll say
Gallia academy Jeff Golden started after the first 3 games as a freshman went 22-7 as a starter and missed his entire senior year due to an injury.
As far as Ironton goes I would maybe have to go with the Carpenter kid who is currently playing probably will be the best passer when he is finished in the last 20 in my opinion and can scramble when he needs to. But if I had to pick one to play with it would be Chad Miller he wasn’t the best passer necessarily he was kinda more of a RB playing QB but he was a super competitor and tough as hell to be a QB

no competition don't gotta compete, I'm already winning this isn't defeat 😵

GA is a no brainer IMO, I just wish we could have watched Jeffrey put a stamp on it during his SR year. Notable that his first start as a fresh was at Jackson resulting in a win.

I would prob throw Josh Sands into the mix at IHS in a similar way you added Chad Miller. Very talented athlete during a time when the Tigers were down a little. He was a beast in the back end of their defense.

For Wellston it was Jaylen Prater. He went on to play at Northwestern University

Jesse Slone, Oak Hill. 7,300 or 7,400 passing yards, 74 passing touchdowns. Over 2,000 passing yards his Junior and Senior seasons. Junior Season was 30 TD passes and 1 INT. Had the fortunate blessing of being around great players as well.
Career record was 34-11.

Definitely agree Golden was one of the best athletes I ever played with or against and he made it look very easy at times. You’re probably right about Sands though I was still in Gallia at the time when he played but a lot of people tell me he was good

Prater was an ATHLETE playing QB. Can't believe there isn't someone else who played at Wellston that would be considered a better QB? Prater did go to Northwestern but it was for LB, not QB. Heck, Prater was a running back for 3 years at Wellston, there isn't a multi year starter from WHS that would top him?

Lawrence Ousley and Jeff Mongtomery
Be a few names worth throwin in there at WHS for best ever QB..they definitely 1 and 2 worthy.

Shawn Buescher was a phenomenal QB but had to move his senior season.

I read Austin Osborne‘s name listed as one of Jackson’s best. But he only played there one year. He had more time in at Wellston. He was a great athlete. One hell of a quarterback. But do you put him on Wellstons list for three years of playing football there? Or do you put him on Jackson’s list for the one year he played there?.

Jake Weiland was another….

Can’t leave Joey Boggs off this list.

Joey Boggs was the best QB to ever play at Jackson until Jared Humprhies showed up. Snd even then the two are tied to me. And if one would have to be ranked #1 it would be by the slimmest of margins.

Hunter Sexton / Austin Osborne / Rysn Tipton / Casey chamberlain/ Bryce Hall those are ALL QBs for the Ironmen.
