#8 Zane Trace: 2-8 playoff record
#9 Portsmouth: 8-12 playoff record

Both teams had losing records last year, but improved in 2021.

Anyone know much about ZT? Havent heard anything so curious to what the Trojans are walking into.

Not bad even though the SVC was weak this fall.
Three sport athlete at QB. Solid O line and three decent running backs.
If Roe is ok, it will be the best passing attack ZT has seen all year.
I have watched Portsmouth numerous times this season. It should be a good game.

Eitel's rankings are always unofficial. Saturday games, out of state games, and appeals always factor in. Nothing is official until OHSAA releases their rankings on Sunday. However Joe's totals are next to being the gospel.

If the Qb is good to go for Portsmouth they will be fine even without him I personally think they can win still but it would definitely be interesting

Portsmouth has a number of weapons at the skill positions and Duncan throws a nice ball, however he's not as mobile as Drew and it's a lot to ask for him to get his first varsity start in a playoff game. Hopefully Roe's injury wasn't as bad as it looked.

Roe did walk off the field both times he went down with a limp though.
It would sad for him not to play after the season he is having in 2021.

Second best passing attack that they will have seen.

Im hearing the same thing from someone who has seen them play. Losing Roe would definitely hurt but I dont think it will take them out of the game after hearing a little info on ZT. Would make it a toss up though, but hopefully none of that matters and Roe is healthy and leads the Trojans to a rematch with Ironton! Give me 4 qtrs of that 1st half and we would have a GREAT game.

Definitely agree I gained even more respect for Roe after last night for sure kid is a super competitor he is the best look I feel like they’ve got to prepare for tingle short in structure very good speed and great at keeping their eyes down field to see the play others may not.

True. Gullion threw for about 200 yards againt Zane Trace, but his legs did a lot of the damage.

From film on Portsmouth, this is my breakdown.
Qb play about even between Roe and Nichols.
Portsmouth has more speed on the perimeter and skill players.
ZT looks to have advantag on the O-line.

ZT will have to try and control Roe from scrambling around and making plays. The ZT d-line is pretty athletic but will have have their hands full. They will probably have to play Nichols in the secondary, they only had to do that the 2nd half of Piketon game.

Portsmouth will need to stop the running attack of ZT and not let them pound the ball. Barnhart is questionable and they may hurt the power running game.

I agree that Nichols and Roe are very similar at QB. Hopefully, Roe is ready to go for Portsmouth. I want to see a good game for once.
Skill players and speed go to the Trojans.

I think minford has a huge chance to shake up region 19 but will fall to ridge wood in the finale. Ironton isn’t gonna go past the third round bc of injury issues imo…

Still think Ironton and Ridgewood are the 2 best teams in the region and Burg has improved a bunch. Ridgewood turned the ball over 4 times against Garaway but was driving for the winning score late and got intercepted at the 10 on a tipped ball. Still don’t think Tingle is 100 percent though. If Week 12 matchup happens between Wood/Burg I would give very slight advantage to Wood playing at home. Neutral site would be a wash IMO. QB 1 or not Ironton is still king until somebody knocks them off.

At the beginning of the year, I wouldn’t have put burg as a regional contender. I do now. Ironton should be a slight favor over the field.
