Wondering how Fairland is D6 in football out of 7 divisions but girls are D2 out of 3 divisions and boys go back and forth D2/D3 I basketball out of 4. I just assumed Fairland was D5 in football. Are there many more girls than boys at Fairland? Doesn't quite add up. Close to D5?

4 divisions in girls sports. It is only based on number of boys in grades 9-12 and I believe they recalculate every 2 years, so every 2 years it can change.

This game is going to be a good one. This match up is going to put guys in the opportunity to see who can rise up. Going to dive a little deeper into West Jefferson more this week.
Fairland they have had guys in back to back weeks who scored 4 touchdowns first Brumfield against BT and then Schmidt last night with 4 against WC. The WC game was tight and it changed very quickly. Fairland was up 34-21 and then punts force a safety and then return a kick and the route is on.
For Fairland to win the ball game Saturday have to have players continue to rise up and make plays Brycen Hunt had a big night against WC.
Fairland will have opportunities to match up with the West Jeff offense Kitts-Leep-Hunt-Martin-—Schmidt will be playing in coverage or different looks. Fairland front 7 has been great will be interesting to see how they can impact the guy. Casey Hudson has been as good as any d line guy and has had huge impacts on many games

West Jefferson is good. Fairland hasn’t seen a team that is this good on offense all year. WJ has a skilled QB- 4 WR who can all catch and run. The running game is there too WJ is as good of an offense as I have seen in a long time.

I do not know where you get that. I can tell you this team has everyones respects this team. West Jefferson is the real deal and everyone knows that. Should be a great game in my opinion.

Yes West Jefferson is the fastest team in the region. Where I think Fairland can win is in the trenches and the run game.

Fairland's official enrollment for 2021-2022 is 152 boys and 162 girls.
The cutoff for Div VI is 162, so they are one of the larger Div IV schools.

With the new alignments, they are pretty much Div III for everything except bowling, track, golf, and girls cross country (all are Div II.)
I would wager they will return to Div V after next year since the enrollment will be larger. The last few classes (2019-2022) have been smaller (<100), but the next few graduating classes are closer to 115-130. I wanna say this year's sophomore class is around 135?

This week is definitely a "put up or shut up" for Fairland. West Jeff is easily the best team the Dragons have seen all season.
They can win this game but will have to come out of the gate ready to play, minimize mistakes, and really lock down on both sides of the ball.
Knowing Coach C, I think he will be stressing to the players this week during practice that this will not be like the other playoff games they have played so far, and if they are not on their game from the moment the game starts that WJ will absolutely exploit that. Good luck green team!

West jeffersons front does not stand a chance against fairlands front along with jd brumfield running it all night. Also with Zander Schmidt coming off of a 4 touchdown game he is ready to do damage to west jeffersons defense too. Dragons by 21

West Jeff looks to be a faster team than Ironton and Portsmouth. Any team that can put up 49 points in a half is a team to be reckoned with.
The Dragons had a lot of miscues against Worthington that I really think will be far more costly if they repeated them against a team like West Jeff.
