They got beat 45-13 last year and this year it probably would of been worse if we’re being honest. Those state championship appearances don’t mean Jack now.

Yep there’s definitely only one explanation to them not agreeing to play… they’re SCARED!!! Did Trimble’s coach tell you personally they were scared? Did trimble’s AD? Or are you just completely making things up?

Exactly! They spent a lot of the season talking about how they "beat the brakes off of" most of their opponents. Then FF "beat the brakes off of" them and they didn't want any more of it. They could have easily said yes to FF. But they searched high and low to try and find someone, anyone that they might have a chance of beating because they know FF is a sure loss. They don't want to go 0-5 or 1-4 or even 0-2 to start the season and they know NY is a heavy favorite with pretty much the whole team back, so instead of taking the challenge they wanted someone, anyone, in that two spot that they could possibly beat.

Yes you are pretty close on that. They made it clear that they are not going to play FF, even to the point that they would have played 9 games to avoid scheduling them if they couldn't find anyone else. Fortunately for them River agreed to play them. I would hate to have seen them have to schedule anyone too good LOL.

What we really like is beating the brakes off of your Eagles. You thought you were going to be good last year, but we showed you you weren't. Now I heard you are jumping ship because you lost what little talent you had. Never fear though whoever replaces you will get the brakes beaten off of their team by the Cats too.

Sounds like Thimble wants an easy win. In that case they should call Hannan because they have week 2 open. That way they don't have to either play only 9 games or get a beatdown from Fort.

Says to me they didn't want another beating. They love putting beatings on the lowly Hocking teams and whatever other weak teams they can schedule. But absolutely do not want to play anyone that could possibly do it to them. They were afraid to play FF again.

As a Fort Frye fan, I don't think calling Trimble "afraid." is fair. I'd say they're being smart. Putting your kids into a position where they have no chance to succeed is foolish.

That said, a few fans who want to say Trimble didn't dodge Fort Frye do reflect badly on their team. Trimble isn't as good as another team that's a division higher. Your life will move on and The Tomcats will continue to be a program to envy for much of Southern Ohio.

We're all entitled to our own opinion. I know their people claim other teams are "afraid" to play them when they won't schedule them, so turnabout is fair play.
