Re: WK10 Waverly - Oak Hill
Waverly should be able to nail this one down and hopefully we'll be locked into the playoffs and get to that 5-5 season. Don't overlook OH though they've had some close games this year.
Re: WK10 Waverly - Oak Hill
Waverly is 4-5 (2-2 SOC2) while Oak Hill is 1-8 (0-4 SOC2).
The Tigers are coming off a 49-24 win at Minford and hope to clinch a playoff spot against the Oaks at Raidiger Field.
Oak Hill has lost eight straight including last nights 33-0 setback against West.
Waverly needs a win for a .500 season and to secure a possible playoff spot, so they cannot take the Oaks lightly.
Waverly sits ranked 11th in Region 16 in Joe Eitel's unofficial playoff rankings heading into week ten. Even with a win though, the Tigers do not control their own destiny.
They will need some help by other teams behind them losing to keep from passing the Tigers. Waverly will not have much of a Level 1 point harvest from the Oaks or Level 2 points from the Tiger's previously beaten opponents.
So first things first, Waverly will have to beat Oak Hill to have a chance.

Re: WK10 Waverly - Oak Hill
Usually there's not a whole lot riding on a 4-5 playing a 1-8 last game of the year but that can't be further from the truth this year.
Waverly playing to keep their postseason streak alive. A win and they are most likely in but a loss at home and they are assuredly out.
The Tigers with only 4 home games this season have not won there so they look to finish the regular season with that allusive home win to springboard them into the playoffs.
Tigers sitting at #11 in the always tuff region 16 with 9.1313 average. Shawnee is on the Tigers heels at #12 with 8.9167 average. They play D3 6-3 Jonathan Alder and have lost three straight to D3 teams (Bellefontaine, Tecumseh and London). It will take a very very good game form Shawnee to win that game and jump the Tigers.
#13 is Cin Hills Christian Academy (4-5) with an average of 8.0833. They play D5 Norwood who is 2-7. That is most likely a win so it comes down to second level points - will they jump Waverly if both win?
#14 is Northridge (6-2) with an average of 8.0379 right on the heels of CHCA. They play D7 Lehman Catholic who is 3-5 and plays tonight.
#15 is Massie (4-5) with an average of 7.9495. Massie, coming off a big win over 6-3 D3 New Richmond plays D3 5-4 Wilmington. Massie has won 4 of their last 5 after losing the first 4 of the season but hadn't beat anyone with a winning record before last night. Should Massie beat Wilmington they should springboard.
# 16 is McClain (4-5) with an average of 7.8500. The Tigers have lost their last 4 (Chillicothe, WCH, Jackson, Miami Trace) and travel to D3 Hillsboro (3-6). How far do they rise with a win?
#17 Eaton (5-4) with an average of 7.5278 controls their own destiny. That must be because they play D3 Monroe who is 6-3. A win over Monroe and they will move up enough to secure a spot, just how far will they move up.
No one else has an average above 5.8000
Several teams above Waverly have the possibility of losing including #8 Alter, #6 McNicholas, #5 Urbana, #4 Bishop Fenwick & #3 Taft but I doubt any of those losing would drop them below the Tigers, possibly Alter would.
THE LAST WEEK IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING
TIGERS NEED TO HAVE A GOOD WEEK OF PRACTICE AND TAKE CARE OF WINNING THAT FIRST HOME GAME!

This game will most certainly not be one of Oak Hill's close games. The Tigers will win by about what margin that they decide on.Tigernation2021 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 12:50 am Waverly should be able to nail this one down and hopefully we'll be locked into the playoffs and get to that 5-5 season. Waverly will be way too much for the Oaks. OH does play physical and with some attitude. Just sad to see how few of kids they have on the sidelines.

Did you happen to count how many players OH had dressed last night against the Siders?SiderBlood wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 9:17 pm Waverly will be way too much for the Oaks. OH does play physical and with some attitude. Just sad to see how few of kids they have on the sidelines.

I did not count exactly, but if I had to guess I would say no more than 7 or 8 on the sideline.VetteMan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:10 pmDid you happen to count how many players OH had dressed last night against the Siders?SiderBlood wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 9:17 pm Waverly will be way too much for the Oaks. Thanks. Somebody else said he thought they had 18/19 players. Counting freshmen, I was told they had about 40 kids last year. I'm pretty sure their Head Coach for the past 2/3 years resigned, otherwise I have no idea what happened.SiderBlood wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 5:57 pmI did not count exactly, but if I had to guess I would say no more than 7 or 8 on the sideline.VetteMan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:10 pmDid you happen to count how many players OH had dressed last night against the Siders?SiderBlood wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 9:17 pm Waverly will be way too much for the Oaks. Re: WK10 Waverly - Oak Hill
There are four teams that I can believe can jump Waverly by just winning.
Shawnee
Eaton
Northridge
Cinton-Massie
Cinicinnati Hills Christian Academy and McClain both have to win and get help to jump Waverly.
Waverly can mathematiccaly jump up to #10 that is not in the cards.
My feeling #13 or #14 is where we end at If we drop to #14 we could get Unioto.

Shawnee plays J. Alder so they've got a really tough matchupWHS2000grad wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 8:25 pm There are four teams that I can believe can jump Waverly by just winning.

Eaton takes on Monroe and my guess is Monroe wins that one.
Northridge will be a tossup
Clinton Massie that should be a good game but with Massie winning 4 of their last 5 games I think they'll pull that one out.
I'm with you in where I think they'll land I'm thinking 12-14 with a real possibility they get Unioto in round 1, as Taft and Bishop Fenwick will jump Unioto
Re: WK10 Waverly - Oak Hill
Hope the Tigers come to play and put this game away. It is senior night and they are expected to win. There is nothing that would make OH season more than to knock us out of the playoffs. Practice hard and go play even harder.
