Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
As far as most impactful player on the field, has to be Ryan Sissel from West. A true old school runner, he runs through you. Lacks just a little grace, but for an old school football fan, he is a delight to watch. Some might argue Pica or Hurd is the better actual back, but they are not as important to the team. He is an outstanding linebacker. His nose for the ball and closing speed is next level. You take him off the field and he completely changes the dynamic of a very good West team.

I would go with Glover from Burg that kid is an impact player on offense and defense would also consider Eric Lattimore from Burg he is fun to watch has great speed and can take it to the house at any time from anywhere on the field
Burg grad 85
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
Sissel was Co Back of the Year last year with over 1500 yards. Probably gonna eclipse that this year as well. Doing it while facing 8 and 9 guys in the box pretty much every week. Good receiver as well.SiderBlood wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 4:59 pm As far as most impactful player on the field, has to be Ryan Sissel from West. A true old school runner, he runs through you. He’s gonna finish his career with well over 400 Varsity Tackles and is probably gonna play linebacker in college.
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
Sissel is a very strong player. Definitely a throw back. Him and Glover would be my choice. Pica from minford is pretty good too.
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
I think this is an interesting year for SOC2 player of the year as there's probably not that clear cut run away player this year. Sissel has had a great career and had a great season and I think he's got to be the front runner but there is some other guys you can say are deserving of votes.

Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
Usually goes to a kid on whoever ends up the Conference Champ, so I'd guess Glover. If West finds a way to win, Sissel no doubt.
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
The two that shared it last year were on teams that were 2nd and 4th in the conference. It’s the best player who had the best year and is most important to their team’s success.Sonny Weaver wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 5:35 am Usually goes to a kid on whoever ends up the Conference Champ, so I'd guess Glover. Sissel without a doubt. Would have picked him even if Burg would have won.

Mitch gets a mention for sure. But Sissel being the dominant guy on both sides, and going for almost 200 against your rival in a championship game..just give it to him. Seen that he was on the sidelines at The Shoe yesterday.

Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
Jeffrey bishop is your guy. He runs the football team through his hard work ethic and great abilities on the field. I don't see any DBs who can stop him in man coverage. Every time you see him touch the ball you are worried because of his electric play capabilities.
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
After finely getting around to watching the game on youtube, Ryan Sissel would be my pick for 2022 SOC-2 POY.
Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
have to agree on Sissel. As far as burg goes I would say either Stanley or Arthur. They are both 2-way players rarely leave they field. run behind them alot and not sure which has the most tackles but probably lead the team..... neither touch the ball much but without them burg is under .500

Re: 2022 SOC2 Player of the Year front runners
Congrats to the all league selections and the players of the year
Surprised Bear didn’t win lineman of the year or defensive player of the year, or at least share it. However, it is nice to see the coaches are not just putting all the league champ players as players of the year. The coaches know more than the fans do.
Wonder why the SOC doesn’t give out more individual awards like some other leagues….Add Def back, LB, WR, Back, Some special teams, etc
