Re: Trevor Carter Ironton LB top 10 class of 2023 per 247
I still can’t believe Drew Novak from W Brown is ranked 121 in state of Ohio…am I missing something?

Ranking doesn’t make much sense.
Perkins 26th? He’s by far the best player on Ironton
Winters 78?
Barnes is the best Linebacker on Ironton’s team.
Perkins and Sissel were the two best players on the field Friday. Where’s he at? No way that kid isn’t too 50 in the state

Rankings have a lot to do with which players have had the most exposure, they don't always line up with who's actually the best in HS. They also focus more on a player's potential for college.. measurements, 40 times, etc. There's been plenty of HS players who played just as good as college recruit, but will never get an offer.SWHITE2002 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 10:55 pm Ranking doesn’t make much sense.

Yep Ask Kirtland. Year in, Year out. No high recruits, just results on the field. Rankings are a joke. Novak way too low. Best prospect in southern part of Ohio.SciotoCfootball wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:08 pmRankings have a lot to do with which players have had the most exposure, they don't always line up with who's actually the best in HS. I agree with the previous post. These lists are made by those that only look at what school they are going to or are offered from

Hall from Coal Grove should be up there IMO, he’s a beast on both sides of the ball. not listed.

Is he playing in a D1 program next year? 247 is a recruiting site for guys having D1 offers.ohbuckeye2 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:59 am Hall from Coal Grove should be up there IMO, he’s a beast on both sides of the ball. not listed.

I’m pretty sure ohbuckeye is an Ironton person. So I doubt he’s trying to down Carter, he’s just giving Hall some credit for being a great player. Carter is also a great football player, but Hall will be playing D-1 football somewhere next yearZoned_Up614 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 4:03 pmThanks. I kept trying to make sense of the comments. Came to the conclusion it was just more Ironton hate. Woulda thought a homegrown kid being top 10 in state might get some respect. I guess homegrown ain't as respected when it's not being used by a program Ironton already beat to try and diminish their success or credibility.JohnDenver wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 1:41 pmIs he playing in a D1 program next year? 247 is a recruiting site for guys having D1 offers.ohbuckeye2 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:59 am Hall from Coal Grove should be up there IMO, he’s a beast on both sides of the ball. not listed.

Where is Halls D1 offers from? I didn’t see any on 247. If he doesn’t have any by now I doubt he will be getting any. Maybe walk on somewhere?Team ovc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 9:48 amI’m pretty sure ohbuckeye is an Ironton person. Yes, I’m a die hard Ironton fan. If you read my post before that, I said - awesome, 3 Fighting Tigers in the top 30 before I made the Hall post. I had no idea if he had any D1 offers or not, he should have that’s for sure. Sorry if I offended anyone.JohnDenver wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 11:06 amWhere is Halls D1 offers from? Re: Trevor Carter Ironton LB top 10 class of 2023 per 247
I agree with you Swhite... Anyone that has watched Ironton this year would have to agree that Barnes is the best defensive player on that team. 247 rankings must not require actual on field gameplay.
Re: Trevor Carter Ironton LB top 10 class of 2023 per 247
I’d say you would have to ask the young man or his family about offers. I know he has some and he visits a lot of schools but it’s not my place to release information about him. And as far as not receiving any of he doesn’t already have some you must not know much about the process of offers. Kids receive offers a lot of the time after the college football season is overJohnDenver wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 11:06 amWhere is Halls D1 offers from? I didn’t see any on 247. Re: Trevor Carter Ironton LB top 10 class of 2023 per 247
Carter got his offer very early in the process. Before NCAA rules changed allowing guys to transfer without sitting out and before the extra year granted players for Covid. And not to mention the extra transferring around with the chances at NIL Deals. Congratulations to him for getting it and props to Cincinnati for sticking with him, but if he would’ve not got that early offer he’s probably struggling as well.
The players the last two years have many more obstacles in acquiring a legit D1 offer. It should get better as the Covid years are filtered out of the system but it’s still gonna be hard for guys not 4 and 5 star players going forward when you can receive a transfer instead of a high school player.

Carter is a 4 star recruit and was the highest rated defensive recruit in Bearcats history as of this time last year. Not sure if that's changed since then.SWHITE2002 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 8:59 am Carter got his offer very early in the process. Is he walking on? No offense to Hall at all because he's been great but it's almost December the kid is a senior if he doesn't have a D1 offer by now he's not going to see one.Team ovc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 9:48 amI’m pretty sure ohbuckeye is an Ironton person.
