Sly? I like it. Seems fitting too.eagle25 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:03 amSo I guess that’s the question. Can Sly make the adjustments necessary to win the big one? He’s won several of the little ones. But the only big time win he has is with the school board recently. Time to step it up a few notches on the gridiron and earn his keep.RBH23 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 7:51 amCan he win a state title at Ironton? Yes. Yes he “played” the board on this and they fell for it. And as you said, good for him. Now to prove he is worthy by delivering that danged elusive chip. Do you think he can finish the job?
Hopefully Coach Pendleton isn’t going anywhere.

So he has went to three title games and you say he has not one a big one that don't even make sense.eagle25 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:03 amSo I guess that’s the question. As a taxpayer in town, I am a bit put off by this whole series of events. Here we have a guy who cant close the deal in big games and he somehow dupes the school board into believing he has a job at Moeller. Yeah right! So they break out the check book and cave in. UNBELIEVABLE! But, its public school education for ya. It doesnt have to make sense.

And its not over yet. The BOE is trying to protect themselves. But, I can put several zeroes on a check. Stay tuned.artisgilmore wrote: Thu Feb 23, 2023 8:48 pm Heard from a person close to the program that he was offered the Moeller job.Glad he is staying here.Go Tigers!

I know how many zeros that was on the first offer, they’re not going to put any more zeros on that check unless they’re hiring Nick Saban lol.Lets Go Big Moe! wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 10:48 amAnd its not over yet. Frankly, I wish he did get an offer, but unfortunately he wasn’t a finalist.ohbuckeye2 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:39 amOk, If you say so lolRBH23 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:22 amThere was no offer. He was never a finalist!ohbuckeye2 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:03 am

Re: Hopefully Coach Pendleton isn’t going anywhere.
I don't know anyone on this board but theres no way pendleton went to moeller, applied, got the job and then said no thanks.
that's like me applying at ohio state and saying no thank you to the offer but im staying at Kentucky Christian.
Moeller is high level football. ironton is not

Question is, did he make the “Moeller short list”?RBH23 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:50 amFrankly, I wish he did get an offer, but unfortunately he wasn’t a finalist.

He was not a finalist.
Re: Hopefully Coach Pendleton isn’t going anywhere.
I didn’t think so. I didn’t see his name mentioned on that thread.

Re: Hopefully Coach Pendleton isn’t going anywhere.
He was offered the job, don’t let the haters tell you otherwise. Ironton had a Board meeting and did what they had to do to keep him at Ironton. Ask big Moe, he still thinks Moeller will get him away from Ironton, but it’s not happening. To those that thinks he wants to Coach at the next level, maybe not. He’s going to be at Ironton for a long time. Remember Coach Lutz, he had a chance to Coach at the next level, look what he did.

so what your sayin is pendleton drove to cincinnati and applied for moeller, was offered the job, and turned it down? Seems logical.

sorry bro no one is buying that story.
Rb story is more logical.
He applied, didnt make the cut, ironton got nervous he was gonna leave and increased his salary.
ironton is small town football. if he applied to moeller, he wants to move up

I live in Cincinnati. Was not hard to find the truth about this.
Here’s a quote: “Pendleton made a smart move to say he was offered the job so to get his AD position and $$ cause he was NOT a finalist for the Moe gig”.
Re: Hopefully Coach Pendleton isn’t going anywhere.
So, the “Sly” moniker is fitting. Seems he pulled one over on the powers at Ironton. He’s probably just as sly in recruiting too. Now forever known as Sly.RBH23 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:57 pmNot only was he not offered the job, he was not even considered a finalist.mustard wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:41 pmohbuckeye2 wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:37 pm

i gotcha.

if pendlelton wants to run around the cobbled brick streets of ironton on his golf cart..get free haircuts... and talk about the strategies and upcoming season with all the glory day fellas as they pick up his beer tab for the rest of his life, then he should stay..
but if he wants to coach at a high level he's gonna go, matter of time. that's why he applied at moeller
