Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
Lost a lot of experience on defense. Lost some important pieces on offense.
Overall they will be smaller and faster. Offensively they'll need to be more diverse out of their wing-t sets.

It's still not updated on LoganFootball.com - but Marietta replaces St. Charles in week 7.Logangrad wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 11:04 am Fri Aug 18- At Jackson

Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
Key losses:
Varik Fick (RB/CB) - All-District, leading rusher
Brayden Sturgell (QB/DB) - All-District, multi-year starter
Izaac Swope (R/CB) - Multi-year starter
Daniel Miller (TE)
Connor Carrier (OT) - Multi-year starter
Dalton Brooks (OG/SAM) - Multi-year starter on both sides of the ball
Anthony McCune (C) - Multi-year starter
Alex Thompson (FS) - Multi-year starter
Easton Castle (R/CB) - Multi-year starter but dealt with tons of injuries
Brandon Ross (DE)
Ryan Harden (DE)
Tyler Dawson (LB)
JD Turner (LB)
Key Rerturnees:
Jack Brown (LB/FB) - Excellent leader. Emerged as a great linebacker in 2022. Can help in most of the offensive backfield roles as well.
Kallen Wilson (OL/DL) - Led the team in snaps played in 2022. Expect more big things from the junior.
Kaden Morgan (HB/LB - will be asked to do a lot on offense. Made some big plays as a wingback in 2022.
Chris Gompf (FB/LB) - was offense only in 2022, likely will play on both sides in '23
Jack Walsh (QB/DB) - started most of the season at QB. May need to help on defense in '23
Avery Linton (OG/DT) - When healthy is a reliable contributor on both lines.
Aiden Hite (OT) - Became a reliable starter in 2022.
Lucas Wolfe (TE/DE) - Solid contributor in 2022.
Elijah Yates (DT) - Emerged late in '22. Could start or add depth on the DL in '23.
Jeremy Fraley (WB/R/DB) - Started a game at safety. Very fast. Will help on both sides of the ball in '23.
Logan will have to completely rebuild at the receiver and defensive back spots. They lose some really reliable players on the offensive line. And the defense loses a TON of experience.
Could see a couple of freshman get an opportunity to contribute.
Could be a fun year.

Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
Very glad to hear this. They should be playing every year. Not many schools of similar size in the area.loganlocos wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:37 amIt's still not updated on LoganFootball.com - but Marietta replaces St. Charles in week 7.Logangrad wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 11:04 am Fri Aug 18- At Jackson

Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
I’d rather see that guy that sent the letter to OHSAA asking them to make Logan D6 in football reach out and ask them again. I think that makes more sense for Logan than it does to recreate a league that had to be held together by Athens.

Are teams from SEOAL allowed to play travel teams from other nations?
Me love you longtime!
Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
We were contacted about joining a league that included several former SEOAL members. Thanks but no thanks. We’re planning on dominating the TVC for a few years before we possibly look for more of a challenge.
I know, I was D1 fellas

logan will be ok and continue in the right way. need those that matter the most buy in the system and believe in it.
want to say that Logan has had some success of late at the lower levels. pee wee on up. hopefully that’s right and translate to Logan’s upper level.

I can't wait to see how 7th grade does this year. That looks like the class to follow.

Can the HC hang on long enough to see them in high school?justlovefootball wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 3:10 pm I can't wait to see how 7th grade does this year. That looks like the class to follow.
Hurting the feelings of the nadless wonders who are afraid to comment before the games.

Re: 2023 Logan Chieftains
I wish him well and hate to see coaches fired because it's not always on them. It's a hard, time-consuming job, but with the records of teams coming up, he'll be long gone by the time that team gets there. Reserves finished 3-5. Freshman 0-4 in a shortened season. 8th grade 1-7. 7th grade 0-7.
