Re: Minford Football
Not sure I agree. I don't think the offense has changed at all.
The previous OC coach wasn't there midseason of 2021. And I won't use 2020 because it was the COVID season but here is the previous OC's last two full seasons compared to the last two seasons under new OC. points scored and points per game avg.
Previous OC
2018 - 475 points scored. 14 games. 33.9 points per game *Holden and Salyers senior year. Great offense.
2019 - 335 Points Scored. 12 games 27.9 points per game * The expected replacing, Incoming QB transferred out.
Total - 810 points 31.1 Points per game
------------
2022 - 458 points scored. 13 games. 35.2 points per game * Running Team
2023 - 381 Points Scored. 13 games 29.6 points per game * Did not play a 10-game season, oak hill canceled.
Total - 839 points 32.2 Points per game

Re: Minford Football
Kaskey's offense at Wheelersburg averaged 36 PPG, not to mention his hand on developing 10 All-Ohio QBs...if you are Minford and want someone to take Caudill under his wing and elevate his game while at the same time rejuvenating a stagnant lethargic program....Tom Kaskey will do that. Minford has an opportunity to here to knock this hire out of the park grand slam style. What will they do?

Re: Minford Football
Agreed. An athlete like Caudill under Kaskey's coaching would be fun to watch. Only question I have is whether Kaskey is willing/able to put in the effort needed to fix the lower levels at Minford?*2quick2catch wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:13 am Kaskey's offense at Wheelersburg averaged 36 PPG, not to mention his hand on developing 10 All-Ohio QBs...if you are Minford and want someone to take Caudill under his wing and elevate his game while at the same time rejuvenating a stagnant lethargic program....Tom Kaskey will do that. Re: Minford Football
Not knocking Kaskey in any way, im sure he is a solid coach. But just to play devils advocate, How much of that success can be contributed to simply just being at Burg?

This is one of the biggest tasks to change the culture out here. These PeeWee parents need a reality check.art_vandelay wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:23 amAgreed. The PeeWee at Minford has crushed the program more times than it has helped. Tons of "Super Bowl wins" have grown to 4-6 squads down the road.
Re: Minford Football
Unless kaskey would win immediately, minford would never accept him.

Re: Minford Football
This could get interesting. I know they have a hiring committee. I just wonder if they will hire outside of a Minford alum. Minford will never accept anyone not from Minford.
Re: Minford Football
Whoa they must be serious then. I look for them to go with an outside hire. I would love to know who was on the hiring committee though.transplant wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 11:55 am This could get interesting. I know they have a hiring committee. Re: Minford Football
As a 2005 graduate of Minford, I for one would be thrilled with the hiring of Tom Kaskey, the Minford alumni bias, and not accepting outsiders IMO is way overblown. We just want to see good football, fundamentally sound, smart football. Kaskey's pedigree speaks for itself.
Re: Minford Football
Speaking with other past football players and alum who know anything about football. They all agree hiring outside the program is needed and is what should happen. Especially when there isn't a qualified coach in the district. There isn't another Brent Daniels in the Building.knowledge wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 12:06 pm As a 2005 graduate of Minford, I for one would be thrilled with the hiring of Tom Kaskey, the Minford alumni bias, and not accepting outsiders IMO is way overblown. I have heard he is on the committee hopefully he learned from his mistake of backing Ruby the first go around.
Re: Minford Football
You are correct in that. The Program went insulated around 2000 I believe and ended around 2017-18 those groups who played in that system produced the best teams to come through Minford. Need to get back to 4 to 6 teams of 12 or 13 and having Varsity players help coach the little ones.Crab's Brother wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 11:43 amWon't happen.SOC_Fan08 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:30 amThis is one of the biggest tasks to change the culture out here. Did they win because they were warmer than the past teams
