ANNA
CINCINNATI COUNTRY DAY
COLDWATER
PAINT VALLEY (BAINBRIDGE)
PORTSMOUTH WEST (WEST PORTSMOUTH)
PURCELL MARIAN (CINCINNATI)

Coldwater is the obvious favorite, But any of these teams have a shot to win it IMO. Paint Valley has a good coach, team and nice QB. The others are no strangers to the playoffs. I’ve also heard from a few fans and players who have high praises of the QB at West, Sounds like they’re going to be in good hands.
Agree with all of this. I’ve also heard nothing but good things about the QB situation. Just will be new. To be honest I think a lot of people are sleeping how good this team can really be, barring injuries.
The QB situation has been new since Irwin left a couple years ago.
This year it’s back to an actual QB instead of an athlete playing the position, but they are gonna run, run and then run again lol.
If they can somehow find balance that will benefit them going forward. From what I’ve heard and seen the defensive will be the big question mark as it has been previously, at least against good competition that is, alot to replace and from what I’m hearing is coach wroten will be taking over the defense, so that has to be a sign in the right direction. Special teams needs cleaned up as well.
If he does indeed take over the defense they will be much more dangerous. He is a very good coach and I’m sure the majority of the players would be happy about the move. He will have them in the best position to succeed.

Nothing exotic from West this season. They just going to line up and run the ball down teams' throats. The offensive line looks nasty, and defense should be solid as well. Parker is probably best running back in SOC (McNeil from Valley in that conversation as well). Wolfenbarker at WR gives West a real athlete on the edge. Like it's been discussed on Portsmouth thread though, West QB has to at least be a threat to pass for them to beat teams like Burg.

With the players West has returning and that offensive line, I could see them making a deep run in D6 playoffs.*

Wonder how the numbers look. Curious to see if they add anyone else in the next week or two. As for the QB, I haven't seen him play yet, but I know his dad was a great athlete.

The QB will be fine. He's a big strong kid and is smart. I look for West to keep on a rolling

None of that make a QB, but for West this year as long as he can take a snap and handoff to Parker and Bishop he'll be fine. Coach has already said they're running it 95% of the time anyways.

In what world do you want a small, dumb QB? Yes, those attributes do make a QB along with others. My apologies for not giving an exhaustive rundown of his skillset
He's a good enough passer to do that when they pick their spots.
And it doesn't take a genius to know West will run the ball 95% of the time. They have a huge line to block for 2 of the best backs in the SOC.

Nope it doesn't take a genius but it's always nice when the coach comes out and says it ;) . West QB play will be adequate at best let's not boost him up to be something he's not, if they're forced to pass they're in for a rough one.

You must be talking about two different people, because the young man that we see playing QB at practice is far from “adequate” or “rough” and it’s obvious by the way you talk you haven’t even seen him. Everyone knows we will be run heavy and should be, but If we run the ball 95% of the time we will be lucky to go 5-5. Not sure who your coach source is, but from what we see every day in practice we should be in more than great shape with #12 at QB.

He’s all over Portsmouth, West & Minford threads pretty much talking out of his ass. People who are in the know and watch practice, every game and so on are wrong and his opinion is correct. He doesn’t seem to like the QB position.

Thanks for following, it's hilarious how some ppl know the truth but they don't want to accept the truth and that's pretty much the category I place you in. What's really funny is when you were trying to explain to everyone how Portsmouth should be doing this and not a single person backed your point of view up and you just ran off. You'll be ok and you'll understand by season end ;)

7 on 7 stuff is out of the way and it’s about time for the pads to start cracking. May I add that they looked surprisingly good considering the extreme lack of experience and preparation. A big scrimmage looming in a few weeks with the Tigers, hopefully they can get something positive out of it.

I think people will be pleasantly surprised with this west team. Some really good football players and athletes. The underdog role will be just fine. There will always be speculation with new players. But they should be in every game athletically. The true test is when it becomes a chess match as to if they can be put in a position to win? That is a big question mark.

What "underdog role"? Consensus seems to be West will be fighting Burg for SOC II championship and should make a run in D6 playoffs. They have a solid senior class back and probably have the favorites for league lineman of the year (Woods) and back of the year (Parker). Anything less than 7-3 and a few playoff wins would be somewhat of a disappointing season for West.*

Given the region they are in only Coldwater and Anna will be the only teams I’d expect to be better than West. I’d say they can make it to week 13

I think Paint Valley can push West also, not saying they're better but they've got a good 16/17 seniors on that team and the QB with another year under his belt. I think that region will lineup Coldwater, Anna, West, PV in some order and like you said I could see them playing into week 13.

Totally agree if Fauber has improved and taken a step it’ll show. Plus they’ll have the best WR in the SVC to throw it too and add in Robertson in the back field.
