I’m assuming you’re talking about the team picture, yeah it’s going to be a looong season in muletown. There’s no way to look at their schedule with what they have going on and say I see wins here and here. You look at it now and it’s like we’ve got a possible shot against Wellston, OH and NW but nothing is given.

Big shout out to the four seniors. They have had talent leave to other schools and others quit. These guys are what defines winners in my opinion.

When’s the last time that the numbers were this low for Minford? It looks like Oak Hill might actually have more kids out this year than Minford, which surprises me a lot.

Been apart of dealing with or seeing these SOC teams for many years and honestly I'm not sure there's ever been a time that I can remember over the last 25-30 years that I've seen a Minford team with such low numbers. It's going to be very tough for the new coach to get things turned around. Next 2-3 years could be very rough at the bare minimum.

Going to ask because I'm curious if things have changed since I last seen them, did Shoemaker decide not to play after all?? Believe he was the one playing QB at the 7-7, Caudill is the QB who decided not to play as his future is in track.
Shoemaker is the one I was referring to that quit the team. This according to my brother who’s grandson is on the team as a WR. I’m not sure how reliable the info actually is as it’s not coming directly from me, but this is what I’ve been told.
Dang that's crazy, no the QB I was referring to has been the backup to Caudill but at the 7-7 Shoemaker was at the helm. That's very interesting but with Shoemaker being basketball I've said the OL was going to be really bad and I'm sure he didn't want to take that chance especially with Haggy leaving Western and going to Minford for basketball. That starting lineup is going to consist of Montgomery, Haggy, Kayser, Shoemaker and whoever else so they should be really good but depth is going to be terrible. Minford football is definitely in a state of transition and it could take 3-4 years at least to see any gains, ppl can talk about that 8th grade group all they want but there's no telling what happens.
Minford’s JH will be scrimmaging Jackson’s JH soon. Should be a really good measuring stick for the futures of both teams.

Possibly my fear is if Minford goes out and does go 2-8, 3-7 like I fear and the games aren't close they could start losing from this 8th grade group everyone watching and waiting on. It's going to take getting a foundation back for this team to get anywhere unfortunately the guys that are juniors and seniors on this team are in for a rough couple years.

Dressed 35 in 2003 and won the SOC but that was with 19 upperclassmen.

Dressed 31 in 2005 in a 3-7 season.

Can’t think of any smaller rosters than that recently.

Compare to 55 in 2007 and 54 in 2010.

Coach Michael is doing a great job with the boys that he has out. I don't think they'll go 0-10, but there is a chance of it happening. I can see a few weeks of canceled games due to injuries. The community needs to get behind coach and support this program to get it back to where it was and even to new heights. We need to maintain a positive attitude towards the football program even with a rough season ahead. Good things are to come i believe. Minford Baseball coming off a state final 4 run.. the kids are in the school, just need to get them to the fields in the fall.

Few opinions I have on why we are here. Ruby went too long with the same substandard crap and the results are continued decrease in numbers. The players who have quit that are current and past Coaches sons is a true shame and those coaches obviously were selfishly uncommitted to the big picture and the program. Basketball team will be in this situation as soon as next year possibly. All focus put on 3 kids and the surrounding players have left/quit and thus we have no depth. Both Caudill boys are GREAT kids and it looks like the younger will be a Minford football player next year in high school. Hope to see him and his teammates get the football program back on track. Speaking of Track, the elder Caudill brother is gearing up to receive multiple D1 track scholarships and was slated to not play football before Ruby announced his departure. The new era of Football, the lack of numbers/talent has nothing to do with his decision to not play football. He will be a huge help for the soccer team who has a group geared up to win the league and another (third) district championship in 4 years. Good for him and good for them at Minford.

I heard this as well, I guess not only are they low in numbers but short staffed as well. The DC is running both offense and defense. Heard the starting center quit too?

Minford football needs a complete reboot top to bottom, and anybody not on board might as well get out now. Yeah, 0-10 probably coming this season, but in long-run, it just short-term pain they got to swallow to try to finally escape the 4-6 platter they been serving up the last 60 years.*

Trying to ask around and see how it went, crazy about the OC stepping down unless he's got some family issues going on that he had to attend to it's not a good look when the OC steps down this close to the start of the season.

My brother says Minford lost 2-0 to Piketon in the scrimmage. He said the defense was decent but the offense never really came close to scoring.

Pretty rough season incoming if you can’t score in a scrimmage against Piketon

Just one of the highlights I seen had them around the 10 so they moved the ball at some point, but Minford is in for a long season.
