Re: Belpre
I have an interview scheduled for Thursday evening with Coach Welsh. Looking forward to getting a better outlook and insight on the upcoming season.

Saw Belpre in action on Saturday morning at Marietta's 7on7 tournament. As a Wing-T team, they are not suited for 7on7 but saw some good things.

Re: Belpre
I think Belpre may have some good games against Beallsville, and Fed Hock. It’s hard to get kids out to play and buy into a program when you’re changing coachs every 2 years or so. Also hard to get kids to come out when you post a 3-26 record in the last 3 years which includes a 22 game losing streak. Wish coach Devols health was in better shape that he could’ve hung around a little longer than he was able to. Hope the eagles have a great season and they stay healthy.

Warren fan here hoping coach Welsh can get things turned around in Belpre. Glad to hear numbers are up. Good luck boys!
Re: Belpre
From a brief glimpse or two, it looks like 20 players in pads for the varsity. Another has their arm in a cast to start the season. Hopefully, a few more will come out.
From the drills I saw, coaches are working hard to establish solid fundamentals and the players are responding by putting in the work to make improvements in their game.
As always...
LETS GO EAGLES!!!

Re: Belpre
I think Belpre must have gotten a new coach because they almost scored on us last year. He must be doing a pretty decent job. Keep up the good work. It’s good to hear that they aren’t playing 8 man. I was thinking I heard they were considering that a few years back.
Don’t hate us just because you ain’t us.

Re: Belpre
Looks like Welch has changed the direction and has them on the road to get to his level of three wins a season within the next few years if he sticks around. A marked improvement from the past several seasons.
Hoping our coach hires someone qualified to call the offense.
Re: Belpre
You can tell when things are bad at Trimble if they almost give up points to Belpre.
The premier offensive guru of Athens County. And the county's best defensive coach for the last 20 years.

Re: Belpre
Guaranteed you get scored on this year. And then some. This team is on a mission and finally have one of the best offensive coaches in the area. Wasn’t that long ago he installed the offensive system and was calling the plays at Fort Frye. If the defense can hold their own it’s gonna be a great season.Tomcat Queen wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2024 12:07 pm I think Belpre must have gotten a new coach because they almost scored on us last year.
