Rooting for fellow TVC member Meigs.

Good luck and good health to both teams.

Does Meigs still have the tougher Cleland boy playing for them? Good luck to both teams. Pulling for the boys in blue but I have no prediction.

I'm gonna guess GA, seeing as how they usually thump their neighbors to the north. Will be interesting to see how GA replaces a boatload of graduating talent and a rising star of a head ball coach.

Good luck to both sides. Hopefully it's a clean, injury free game

Meigs is on their 3rd Cleland.
One from last year graduated and is playing for Marietta College.
The younger Cleland who's at Meigs now is just a sophomore I believe.

The game can be heard on Fox Sports 103.7 FM WMPO and also on Pure Rock 99.5 FM WBYG
Meigs will stream the game via their Hudl camera with the audio being supplied by 103.7 FM.
Go to Meigs Local School District and click athletics and then live streaming.
It should be there.

Word in Pomeroy is that NFL has Meggs poised for the upset.

LOL I remember one year when Bartrum spent like half the game on the field yelling at the refs. I just laughed because any other coach in any other venue would've been flagged repeatedly or tossed.

Yeah he’s a hothead for sure. Out of control a lot of times. But, he’s NFL so the high school refs are scared of him.

14-12 Meigs at the half.

Turnovers keeping GA in it.

Meigs for some reason keeps trying to outspeed GA, when they've got two backs getting 5 yards a pop up the middle. Blue hasn't stopped the power run yet, but has 2 INTs on Cleland including a pick 6. Neither team has attempted a PAT, with one Meigs 2 pt conversion being the difference.

Shelton looks like a 2 way stud for GA.

NFL will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory given the chance.

Nope. Really sloppy play all around. Blue made too many mistakes in big moments. 2-8 season is very possible after an ugly loss like this one.

Offense is entirely too predictable, defense can't stop the run between the tackies, secondary can't tackle physical receivers. Very undisciplined. Lots of penalties.

Good win for Meigs

I thought blue devils would look like what you would expect. They looked like a team who hired a coach late. Did not have a strong off season workout and conditioning program and looks like the players still learning the playbook.

Way too many kids moving at practice speed not game speed. Team seemed soft and I don’t mean that to be mean to kids. If you don’t know where you’re supposed to be going or what your roll is. It is very hard to be aggressive.

Have a stud of a QB but if receivers are only running routes half speed it doesn’t do you a lot of good.

I thought the number of kids and athletic ability of kids was good. There is a chance they can improve as they go on. But it is hard without the solid off season program to get you started.

Wish them the best hopefully get to see a few more games this year.

As a side comment am I only the only person that thought like the atmosphere was that of almost a scrimmage

Yeah, didn't feel like opening weekend that's for sure. A lot of new faces on this year's team. #7 is apparently only a soph and GA seems to run their offense through QB #1 and WR/SB #7. QB missed some open WRs for walk in TDs too. Plenty to work on this week.

Not a great game for the Blue Devils for sure but they will improve and 6-4 is still possible for them the OVC isn't very strong Portsmouth had struggles Coal Grove got destroyed Rock Hill beat a bad Minford team in a bad weekend for the SOC.
Cheasy beat a bad Symmes Valley team.
Fairland right now looks like the team to beat in the OVC.
But Gallia can still recover and have a good season

I gotta think besides South Point and possibly Athens, Meigs is the weakest team on their schedule.
