Cheasy beat a bad Symmes Valley team.
Fairland right now looks like the team to beat in the OVC.
But Gallia can still recover and have a good season
I gotta think besides South Point and possibly Athens, Meigs is the weakest team on their schedule.
Couldn’t agree more!!!
It’s time to develop those younger players this season… JV games will be better to watch.
For the love, someone teach these kids to get hydrated! It wasn’t 96 degrees out and every single kid was cramping.

Like I said, 2-8 or 3-7 season incoming. There's talent, but they're undersized and I have serious doubts about the defense. 4-6 would be a huge accomplishment for this team, as it stands right now. Hard to replace that many seniors and a coaching staff and then not even filling the staff in a timely manner.

Maybe Meigs is better than we're all thinking. But generally speaking, a loss to Meigs means a really bad season for the G men

I didn’t think Meigs would win this one

Great win to start the season for Meigs. Some things to fix, but definite improvement from last season.

Hoping to see more improvement from this team as the season continues!

Lot of questionable flags going both ways in this one. The facemask against Meigs was pretty obvious when you saw the GA ball carrier's head jerk back and turn sideways while being tackled.

Seemed like they didn't know what they were flagging half the time and just congregated and made up some BS after a few minutes.

Thought both teams had pretty clear first downs that were called short. Meigs had what looked like a pretty clear first down that wound up being 3rd and short, 4th and short, turnover on downs. Then later toward the end, GA QB took off running toward the 1st down marker on 4th and long and looked to have the angle by a good half yard, but it got called short

Learning experience for the zebras and the kids.

Good luck to the fine folk in Marauder country this season.

We'll see this week how weak Athens is

I could be very wrong. I apologize if it came off like I was belittling them.

Good luck to both sides. Hopefully it's a clean, injury free game
Word in Pomeroy is that NFL has Meggs poised for the upset.
Come on Baldy. At least give me credit for telling you how this one would turn out. We had the program “poised” for this one. It’s our team with “NFL” and his cronies reaping the fruits of our labor. But whatever fellas. Happy for the players and they know who brought them here.

With any coaching at all Meigs will beat Athens. So you’re right with your statement.

Not really sure how I feel about this outcome. Congrats to Meigs on the victory, not really sure how the record stands in recent years, probably Gallia Academy with the advantage though. Not that this has anything to do with this game at all, and it could just be a rumor, but I have heard that the Blue Devils and Jackson are supposed to start playing each other again, starting next year.

Who's getting replaced on the schedule? Meigs, Point Pleasant, or Athens?

Likely Athens. Gate is too big for the other 2 games.

Not sure about the Blue Devils schedule next year, or who they possibly may not be playing. Just heard that Gallipolis may be replacing Logan on Jackson's schedule next season. Not sure if it's just for next season.

Pretty sure every Gallia and Jackson poster on here has been beating his chest about this game needing to be played every year and rightly so. It's a long standing tradition. Gallia, Logan, Athens, and Jackson should agree to a long term nonconference agreement. Each team plays each other at least once before the contract expires. Keep the old rivalries alive.

Not sure about Jackson but I heard they may be replacing the coach next year. Seems to be how they roll in GA Land.

Parents and rich folk in town would run off Nick Saban if he didn't play their little Johnny, I swear to God.
