Ugh. We are seeing quotes saying RV is finally tough and in shape and ready to outlast every opponent. Let’s maybe talk a little less until there is at least a little progress in the program.
I was there at the game. I do believe the mentality has started to change at RV. No one has said that it would change overnight. This is still a team that was 0-10 last year and hasn't won a game since 2022. However, you can see the small changes taking place. It will take time.

As for the "getting throttled by a school 1/3 of its size"....a couple of things.

Eastern is a great team, period. They were last year and will continue to be this year. You cannot judge a change or any change in RV based on getting beat by a playoff team, regardless of division.

A 1/3 the size.....Eastern had 30 kids Friday night, RV had 29. Not sure we can judge these two schools on school size. Maybe team size?

But that is all just my opinion. Onto South Gallia this week for the Raiders!
I think there is a real issue when Eastern has about 40% of their boys enrollment playing football and RV only at about 15%. That’s a HUGE difference and screams that there just isn’t something adding up here….and this is before soccer is possibly a high school sport in the future. It could get even worse. That’s really scary.

Not sure on your count for Eastern they have around 43 players.

That’s such an impressive number for a school of Eastern’s size. How do they get that kind of participation/commitment to the sport?

WOW, sorry about that greenwave. But that pushes my point even more. Not many Division 7 schools are going to have 40+ kids out!
