Hunter Skinner was probably the best player to ever step on the field at Proctorville.

a couple good ones not mentioned
RB-Timmy Cerullo-1 of the better ones
RB- TJ Bellville
Best qb in my opinion with nothing but respect for all the names mentioned, Micheal Jackson toughest to step under center. Cole Hatfield a close second

Michael Jackson was also played LB on D,Alot of folks don't realize that!Kind of an odd combination to have youre QB playing middle backer! :mrgreen:I know alot of the old timers will probably tell you the best player ever at Fairland was Glen Stapleton though!IMO though I would say Dean Wilks because he is the only player from Fairland to ever play D-1 at Kentucky!Been alot of great players over the years though,Wont take anything away from any of them! ;-)

Hey earp, Ferris wasn't a bad qb either. And do you remember John Arnold at TB or FB in the 70's. I remember as a kid watching him run. it seems he had a ton of yardage. Is there any way of finding stats on past FHS players?

Now this is the kind of Fairland thread I like and I can't believe I forgot about Eric Ferris and has big Davie Collins been mentioned at tackle

Alot of the stat sheets from the early and mid 90s burnt up in Coach Harris' house fire!Guy to ask from probably 2000 on though would be Jeff Gorby! For example Michael Hills' 536 yard passing performance would be something like 6th all time??I know Jeff has to have that somewhere because his sister keeps the football book!Oh and another good reciever not on any of the above lists is Chris Lee,WOW what an athlete he was!

Yes he was if it was touching his fingers he caught it. I always liked him and his family. Didnt Tara go on to set a couple track records at Marshall I know she was on the team and did well.

All time FHS center Greg Smith. He'd be my starter. He was a great guy too. Shame he lost his battle with cancer at an early age.

Greg Smith's number 77 has been retired as well,It will never be worn by anyone again!Dean Wilks also wore #77 before it was retired,Kinda interesting probably the 2 best lineman to ever play at the school wore the same number! :mrgreen:Oh Dean just added me on facebook BTW!

Earp, I’m surprised by this statement. You, sir, are usually a walking encyclopedia of Fairland athletic history. Dean Wilks was not the only player from Fairland to go D1. Bernie Stanley played offensive tackle for the Buckeyes in the early 1960s. He was part of the 1961 National Championship team.
