WK 3 - Paint Valley (2-0) vs. Greenfield McClain(0-2)

Post by Pop-PopFB70 »

Any fallout from last week’s hazing news? It was overblown from what I’ve heard, but not sure of any follow up discipline if any.

Even if they are down a player or two, I don’t see how McClain can win the game with the amount of overall size and talent PV has playing at a high level.

Thoughts?

Bearcats put whatever behind them and win 42-13.

Agree with you, I could see a running clock in this one. I’m impressed with the PV defense, especially in the secondary - huge improvement over last few years. Two years ago they lost Cole Miller, last year they lost Dom Chambers - both before the seasons started… their defense would have been way better with those two guys but didn’t see this coming.

Paint Valley Bearcats rocking in Greenfield and rolling by as much as possible with scoring as many points as they sure can and allowing an extremely minimal amount of points. PVFB will go onto being 3-0 in non-conference games.

Is Paint Valley’s Gage Wagner a JV player from last year or is he a transfer? Kid is a game changer. 6’3” with long wingspan playing CB who has speed, burst and hands… nightmare matchup for most WRs.

Pop, he is not a transfer. I just think he was a late bloomer, a junior this year. I think he played some varsity last season just didn't start.

Pretty bad you don’t know which of your own players are from PV and which are transfers but I get it with a CB number so high its an easy mistake. It would be hard to keep track of lol

Yeah, all my kids have graduated and now just a casual high school football junkie. Not sure who’s who on the roster anymore… other than from the stands, forums, and media.

PV wins this one pretty comfortably as long as they don’t turn it over a bunch. This might be more of a contest after this year, but there’s a pretty big difference between the squads this season.

Most are transfers.
2 from Waverly
3 from CHS
1 from Hillsboro
1 from Leesburg

Direct result of a coach from out of PV area coming in playing “daddy’s ball” to ensure his kid’s friends get to play.
PV kids pushed to the back burner.

Sounds like you are fairly knowledgeable with the team, trying to figure out the daddy ball reference though there aren't any coaches kids on the team is there? Doesn't PV have like 50 kids or so on the team, rough guess and only 7 are transfers?? Just trying to figure it out I don't think the reference of daddy ball applies.

Don’t know the daddy ball reference but Paint Valley does proudly hold the biggest competitive balance number in the southeast along with reedsville eastern and Notre dame.

Pretty good to outnumber Ironton and all but one public school in division six

At the West Jeff game the roster looked a little closer to the mid to upper 30’s but I may have mis counted.
