Wk6: (2-3) Wheelersburg @ (4-1) Harvest Prep

Post by The Nature Boy »

So, it's been discussed a lot about this game. Wheelersburg will have no chance against Harvest Prep. I tried to find out how to purchase tickets for this one as Harvest Prep plays their home games at Pick Central. Pick Central sales all their tickets online and their box office site doesn't show this game. Anyways, Burg will do their best and they have much respect for Harvest Prep. I don't look for this to be close but should be a good game to watch. After this the Burg gets into league play. I believe the rest of the way will be a challenge. May both teams have an injury free game.

Would really like to see a Burg win here but I fear they will have a running clock put on them.

its going to 1-15
running clock #3, only question is will it be in 1st half or second
Not sure what the turnout was at the burg game but saw alot of diehard life long burg fans at the ironton game. not good when those type fans cant watch the product on the feild any longer and go to your rival in order to see quality football

I was unaware Harvest Prep has moved the game to another location. Prep has it’s own field but seating is definitely limited.

As for a prediction, Harvest Prep 38 Wheelersburg 14.

They want a program with a heart and some fight in em. Softburg just runs away from comp now. Ironton & Prep broke SOFTburg.

Why does hp play home games at pickerington. They had a nice facility of their own?

Just going by what I was told by someone from HP. Makes no sense to me either. Probably wrong. They were probably confused by HP played Pick Central this year at Pick Central. I'm sure it's at HP.

If burg was ever going to use a game to try out something, it should be this one. Burg will need to control time of possession to have a chance

When Ashland played them they got out to a 10-0 Lead. However, Lightning delays and storms led to an extensive delay but the game was finished with Prep scoring 26 unanswered. (And Ashland has a pretty darn good team this year.) If you want to compete with Harvest Prep... Get out to a lead and don't look back. Because Prep can score FAST and QUICK.

Ugly, early and often. HP has to keep Ironton thinking they can compete with them so they’ll run it up if at all possible. Poor Burgs is having a rough go of it lately. Wish them well though.

Good opportunity for prep to rest any players with nagging injuries for the stretch run . Won't need them in this one.

Here is the issue i see. Prep is ALOT faster off the ball and to the ball at the line of scrimmage. Vs Ironton, Jackson & Mcnick, to me, burg looked sluggish in both. And it seemed that way all over the field. I don't think Burg can sustain consistent long drives vs Prep. That offense is gonna fall behind the chains frequently in this game. I also dont believe this burg offense is effective enough to overcome a hole. A 13 point lead is enough this week for Prep to make Burg fold on the road vs a program that has OWNED them. Burg needs to create some turnovers and also play very good special teams this week to have a punchers chance.

Preps offense has spells where they look outta sync. If Prep were playing Ironton this week ( an ironton vs prep week 6 game woulda been really good btw) I would say Irontons defense is good enough & fast enough to exploit some of that. Can Burgs D do it for a night?

Final

Prep 34
Burg 21

Good week for burg to prove they do infact "get better every week."

Way I figure it. If burg can avoid a running clock at Prep that means Ironton beat Burg worse than Prep at Burg. Which could also then mean a couple other things. Maybe burg did not getter better as the season went on as has been previously claimed by most burg fans. And maybe Ironton and Prep are very even or Ironton is a bit better than Prep.

I picked Prep by two Tds. Giving SOFTburg the benefit of the doubt.
