Re: Week 7: (5-1) Ironton @ (1-4) Pikeville KY
St. Francis NY Beat #19 ranked Erie Cathedral Prep 35-21.
Erie Cathedral Prep is historically one of the BEST programs in PA. and has great football history.
As for this game, Pikeville has a cpl big kids but they are slow, slower and slowest. Ironton by as much as they want. This is a huge mismatch.
This Fighting Tiger team is special. Rare air.

Without a couple of magical Terry returns, this isn’t a game. Ironton loses by 2 touchdowns. But Terry IS a part of the game. High effort on defense to make a play resulting in a horse collar penalty IS a part of the game. The game was a close 28-27 loss WITH 2 magical returns by Terry AND one unfortunate horse collar penalty. That said, do not overlook Pikeville. They have the same attitude Ironton kids do and fear nobody. They have played a powerhouse schedule that includes 2-3 teams who would give Ironton all they want and then some. Ironton can and should win this game comfortably, but don’t take those mountain kids lightly.gobucs20 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 11:36 amWill you say the same thing when it costs them a playoff game.

Theyre slow. And kentucky has hills. Not mountains. LmaoGoBigI wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:46 pmWithout a couple of magical Terry returns, this isn’t a game. Ironton loses by 2 touchdowns. Do your research, they are mountains. And slow? We’ll see soon.Jawnjkang98 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:59 pmTheyre slow. And kentucky has hills. Not mountains. Watched Pikeville play George Rogers. Ironton folks going to be surprised watching Pikeville. They look like mirrored images of each other with one exception. Ironton has better WR, Pikeville has better RB. Playbooks look identical.

What’s the seating situation at Pikeville? I only see one set of bleachers on Google maps

What you see is what you get. One sided field. I'm going to guess around 3000 seats.

Can’t wait to see the reports that roll in after this game on here. Y’all need to chill
Re: Week 7: (5-1) Ironton @ (1-4) Pikeville KY
Without the Backup QB coming in on 3rd and 9 and hitting a pass in perfect stride Ironton wins. Or without the DE #94 who disrupted a lot of Ironton plays Ironton may win by 2 TDS. Come on man we can do this all day long. Terry and those guys are on the team and it’s part of the game. Terry has done this every game.GoBigI wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:46 pmWithout a couple of magical Terry returns, this isn’t a game. Ironton loses by 2 touchdowns. But Terry IS a part of the game. Re: Week 7: (5-1) Ironton @ (1-4) Pikeville KY
Pikeville: Left guard(54) and Right tackle(57) has good size with discipline and a nasty streak.(running back squeezes off of their hip pretty well). They have 2 LONG and twitchy receivers. Their secondary has a MAJOR eye discipline problem that may help them a little as Biggs sometimes stares down the receiver he’s throwing to. Defensive linemen is their biggest weakness(get off the ball slow+stand straight up) no swim moves, push and pull… nothing, they stand straight up and try to walk around?
Visually going to be one of Biggs best nights to air it out(I’m sure our OC notices).
And yes seating is on one side but there’s a group of seats behind the diamond that should still be a great view.
With all that being said, running clock will for sure be going.

If Ironton would lose the game for some reason, I am sure we will see posts about Pikeville being the new IMG of Kentucky.

I know you must have been so excited to see Ironton get beat. We arent used to that down here, unlike burg of course who took yet another L to a good team. Dont worry though you guys have a chance this week against the power house that is Oak Hill

Ah come on now, leave poor old burgfan alone. He come here to comment cause they almost won against a good team. Everything will be right with the would the next 4 weeks. Burg is into thier soc schedule now. That might be enough to get them in the playoffs this year. Their prize most likely Ironton or Prep again.
