Fairland is better this year on both sides of the ball. The D line are making tackles at the line of scrimmage. If Portsmouth has to start throwing the ball it could get ugly because the secondary for Fairland is way better this year. I hope for a good exciting game with Fairland getting the win!
Portsmouth actually led 19-14 at half in the regular season meeting. Got the ball to start the second half, ate up 6 minutes of the quarter and failed to convert a 4th and 4. Fairland took over from there and scored on a long pass play. Then the route was on. Had Portsmouth converted that that 4th and 4 we may have seen a different ball game. You say that the Fairland defensive line is better this year, well I sure hope so. Giving up 700+ yards on the ground to Portsmouth in 2 games last year is bad. Guess we shall see tomorrow…
Don’t need to wait till tomorrow. Look at what Fairland gave up last year. Fairland gave up 181 points in the first 6 games last year with no shutout. This year Fairland has only given up 51 points with 2 shutouts.

You do need to wait until tomorrow lol. Tell me another team last year that rushed for 500 on them in a single game? Now tell me another team this year that has as potent of a rushing attack as Portsmouth? I don’t see any other school on that schedule that has a Heiland-Williams threat the way Portsmouth does.

How do you laugh your @ss off so many times, how many do you have? And what is so funny about scoring 50 points in a game?

I still like Fairland in this one. I think their ability to pass and run effectively will gash this Portsmouth defense. I also think Portsmouth is far too vanilla offensively. I think fairlands defense can hold their own and get this win

Looked up the stats, not sure how updated they are. Fairland 1071 passing 901 rushing. They way everyone talks the offense up on here I would’ve figured they had way more passing. Not nearly as impressed with this offense now that I have looked at totals in each game.

Also I find your vanilla comment funny. Did that defense featuring mostly the same kids hold up against that vanilla offense last year? Portsmouth has thrown more this year than last year btw. Portsmouth is averaging 250 rushing yards per game. Time to lace them up, and see if Fairland can stop the vanilla this year.

I know all of the attention will be on Heiland but I’m curious to see what kind of game JT Williams will have. He’s been really good and can definitely hurt Fairland with his feet.

You just made my point of how effective fairlands offense is. Nearly a 50/50 split in yards so they’re going to keep you on your toes. Also who cares about last year I care about now with the teams they have. If Greenup was able to throw on Portsmouth I don’t see why Fairland can’t. I also think there will come a time in this game when Portsmouth will need to throw and it’ll be a matter of it they can or not. I think it goes wire to wire all game no one up more than a touchdown all night

I personally think Portsmouth can throw the ball. They just don't!! So if that's what you think will be the difference then just hope they still won't lol. Portsmouth pass defense is better. I think greenup could pass and RUN all over fairland. It's just opinions. This game will come down to physicality. And we know who won that matchup last year!!! Portsmouth will come out with their ears back. And I think fairland will come out tip toeing trying to spread it out and want nothing to do with a "fight"

It's definitely going to be a good game I think If Fairland wins it will be by 21 if Fairland can't stop the running game I think Portsmouth wins

Game of the week in P-town tonight! I really like how Trojans defense has been playing last few weeks. If their offense can run the ball and chew up clock, they got a great chance in this one. I’ll say Portsmouth wins 28-24.*
