I tried to tell you. Wore Marietta out in the second half. Conditioning and weightlifting is a lifestyle at Williamstown.

Williamstown 30
Marietta 22
Final

Another instant classic in this rivalry and another heartbreaking loss for MHS. Got to put this one behind us with TSL play starting next week @ Fort Frye.

I watched some of the game online. Marietta just did not make the plays that they needed to in the last 6:30 of the game to win. Kind of heartbreaking to watch it all fall apart over a couple of bad ball possessions in the 4th quarter. It happens, but great teams and great coaching don't let it happen very often, especially against an opponent that has been a thorn in their side.

This game will be close for 2 quarters. After that Marietta’s soft schedule will show. Williamstown will wear them out in the 2nd half.
If you think Marietta's schedule is soft, wait until you see Williamstown's.

I'm glad you posted in this thread. Last year you predicted a 40 point Jacket win in a game Marietta led for 47 minutes. This year you actually think it will be close for 2 quarters, so I'm really liking our chances now.
The softer schedule came out on top of the soft schedule. Opinions are opinions. Everyone has them.

Congrats on not embarrassing yourself with your prediction again this year.

Knew this game would come down to the wire and it did, however after seeing the Tiger's resilience in the Circleville game last week, I really thought MHS would pull it out this year. Williamstown is an excellent small school football program that just reloads every season. Last season it was the Molessa kid that willed the Jackets to victory, this season it was Lynken Joy. Very impressive performance by him.

Marietta was one play away from winning this one -- one stop. Humorous people posting "I knew this would happen or that would happen" of course didn't know. Stuff happens in sports. Fort Frye will be a very difficult task, but its possible the next game could be close as well.

When you know. You know. It’s happened 7 times in a row.
