They could have scheduled down and had a better record. Instead they played a loaded up Ironton team, a loaded up mcnick team, and a loaded up prep team. They probably should have beat Jackson but the others were going to be tough. I still think burg could be a problem in playoffs
Week 9: (1-7) Minford @ (4-4) Wheelersburg

You haven’t beaten Jackson in years. 6-5 seems rough for burg.wobycat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 11:38 amThey could have scheduled down and had a better record. I watched it Saturday , I disagree . You need a category for “should have wins”. Never give other teams any credit. Wheelersburg had kids laying on the field after every other play that game. I only hope we get a rematch in the playoffs.
Re: Week 9: (1-7) Minford @ (4-4) Wheelersburg
Burg had the lead with a min and something to go. They gaffed on the kick off not waiting on the refs whistle that went into the end zone. When they kicked off, they kicked it out of bounds and had to re kick. When it was all said and done, Jackson had the ball at the 45 instead of the 20. Yes they should have won. Maybe if they had a few more transfers, they wouldn’t have needed that and won it outright.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 12:05 pmYou need a category for “should have wins”. So you let Jackson drive 55 yards with a few minutes left ? If I remember the tailback basically ran it down your throat and scored. You are way too soft for the Tigers.wobycat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 12:13 pmBurg had the lead with a min and something to go. Will do. Just credit your high level of success to your transfers. Really easy.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 12:30 pmJust give another team credit when they win a game . Yes a lot of our success is because of players moving in to play for Ironton. I don’t expect that to stop anytime soon. Ironton is a serious football program for players who are serious about playing next level.wobycat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 12:36 pmWill do. Just credit your high level of success to your transfers. We did. I never said we didn’t. I said we should have won. We had the chance. Literally.
As long as you can admit Ironton success is based i
On transferred talent. , I’ll say whatever you want me too.

So the question is which is worse? A D3 school being 6-6 against a D5 school, or Burg being .500 against Jackson since Woodward took over?
Are you saying that it’s embarrassing that Burg is only 6-6 against D3 Jackson? Do you think that little of their program?

You’re wasting your time. Took me awhile to pick up on it. Go back and look at his posts. Nothing insightful, just bait.RBH23 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 5:38 pmWoodward versus Hall is 6-6 record.

Re: Week 9: (1-7) Minford @ (4-4) Wheelersburg
This site is toxic about 95% of the time. It is almost always grown me arguing like 10 year olds and getting their kicks over high school kids. Some people are supportive and feel pride about their communities, the rest are ripping coaches and kids all over the place. Trolls left and right!
I understand that Ironton is a different animal but just about every school in the southeast is coached by teachers or community members for pennies and people act like these are NFL teams. Like new coaches and players are out there and schools have unlimited money.
Good luck to Minford and Burg this week. Maybe there will actually be some discussion about those teams and the players in this game rather than the stuff this thread is filled with.

Sometimes you get sucked up into it. I did today. Took me awhile to figure it out.
If burg goes 6-5 and wins soc, to me that’s a good season. Not great but definitely not disappointing. They have gotten better as the year has went by and they have a good shot winning the conference with some injuries getting back.
