I love this time of year! Getting down to the nitty gritty, playoff pictures getting less cloudy, and our league champions being crowned. Just in time for the weather to start feeling like fall.
Big School Championship
Tri Valley vs Sheridan. Tri Valley way too much offense for the Generals.
Big School 3/4 Game
John Glenn vs Philo. Philo needs this win, or else will be on the bubble for postseason. John Glenn would have to win out to have a slim chance. Philo by 14
Big School 5/6 Game
Morgan vs River View. Two winless teams going head to head. Morgan has shown some life. The black bears are hapless. Morgan by 35
Small School “Championship”
New Lex vs Crooksville. The Championship was likely week 4 at West Muskingum, nonetheless, if NL wins they are Small Champs.
Meadowbrook vs Maysville. Meadowbrook too much offense for the Panthers. Playing for 2/3 NEXT week versus West.
West M vs Coshocton. Last year was a thriller. This year, not gonna happen. West has reeled off 3 straight shutouts (42-0, 41-0, 43-0). West playing for 2/3 NEXT week versus Meadowbrook.
PLAYOFF OUTLOOK
D3
Tri Valley won’t catch Watterson or Steuby, pretty well locked in as #3. IN
Sheridan has steadily improved since early on. An upset win this week would be get them into the postseason for sure, but don’t see it happening. If not, they need to beat little brother NL in week 10 to be in. 6-4 in any other region would be in, not in R11. IN
John Glenn would have to win out to have a chance of being in. They play Philo and TV; much more likely to lose 2 than win 2. OUT
D4
New Lex can’t catch Indian Valley or St Clairsville. They are the 3 seed if they can finally topple the Generals week 10. If not, they’re in the 4-7 range. IN
Philo needs a win this week for positioning. With a win, they could possibly host round 1. With a loss, they’re looking at 12-16 traveling to a top 4 team. IN
Maysville has to beat Meadowbrook and Crooksville to have a SLIM chance to MAYBE sneak in at 15-16. Don’t think they beat Meadowbrook. OUT
D5
West M is looking at a 6-7 seed. As mentioned every week that I’ve talked playoffs, they’ll be a problem for anyone not Ironton or Prep. IN
Meadowbrook is on the bubble, a win against West M week 10 would guarantee a spot. A loss and they’ll need help. OUT
Crooksville likely needs to win out to have a chance. Don’t see it happening. OUT
Coshocton would need to upset West M this week to have any chance at being in. OUT
Morgan has no chance of making it in, even if they would somehow win out. OUT
River View might be able to find some successes against two teams combined 1-15 the next 2 weeks. OUT

Re: MVL Championship WEEK 9!
Appreciate that pfloyd! I know our league is probably more of AN “on the border” of SE Ohio, but our league has a lot of great athletes, teams, and coaches - so thought I’d help shine a light on our league. Excited to see some of our teams excel come week 11!

Big School
Tri Valley vs Sheridan. TV BY 14
John Glenn vs Philo. Philo squeaks by a field goal
Morgan vs River View. Morgan by four touchs
Small School
New Lex vs Crooksville. Have seen the Ceramics rise to the occasion in the past but New Lex wins by three touchdowns.
Meadowbrook vs Maysville. The Colts seem to be the popular choice but I think it will be close. Colts by a field goal
West M vs Coshocton. West in a romp by five touchs.

Big School:
TV vs Sheridan - TV flexes muscles and wins by 28
JG vs Philo - I believe this ends up being the game of the night. I’ll take JG by a TD in an offensive struggle.
Morgan vs RV - Morgan gets into the win column big
Small School:
NL vs Crooksville - NL offense is legit. They roll.
Meadowbrook vs Maysville - Colts have too much O. Win by 14.
WM vs Coshocton - WM extends the shutout streak
TV vs Sheridan - TV flexes muscles and wins by 28

Re: MVL Championship WEEK 9!
Tri-Valley 21
Sheridan 9
Sheridan fought very hard. But it was pretty obvious throughout that Tri-Valley was the better team. Sheridan could not run the ball. They had to throw a bunch. TV had about 5 interceptions.
I really appreciate guys who are willing to ump, but this crew was not ready for a league championship.

TV 21-9 Sheridan. Closer than expected
Philo 21-14 John Glenn. True game of the week; could’ve went either way.
Morgan 62-7 Morgan. Winless Morgan hung 62 on River View
New Lex 38-10 Crooksville. Closer than expected.
West M 44-0 Coshocton. West M 4 straight shutout wins with 40+ points scored
Maysville 13-6 Meadowbrook. Surprise of the night. Didn’t expect MB to have trouble scoring. Was at TV/SH game. Can anyone explain?? Injuries?

Tri Valley/Sheridan
Fun game to watch. Tri valley could not run the ball. Their passing game was great though. Sheridan could not run either. Tri valley just had more playmakers.
