Burg amazingly has every injury they had earlier cleared to play. One big surprise for me was the sophomore linebacker. They figured he wouldn’t be back. This kid is tough and can play. He played some last night and looked really good.

West will have to pass their way out of this one to win.

West has improved as the season as went along, but so has Burg imo. I’ll take Burg because Weat can’t throw the ball to save their lives, or in this case SOC championship aspirations.

Week 10 and here we are. SOC Championship on the line. The records don't matter. This is always a good ballgame and whoever wants it more will walk away with the gold football.

very even match up here player wise and similar to the match up last season. everyone in the stadium knows this game is always won on the sidelines. good luck to the siders.

Death, taxes, West vs Burg for an SOC. I’d like to find the numbers of how many times week 10 has decided the SOC. I’d have to think a lot.

Both teams started off with a rough record , but as good teams do they both have improved. Burg has a much better non conference. West has been down and out several times this year and have scrapped and clawed to gut out wins.

I honestly think athlete for athlete we can match up. Where burg separates is the depth they have. In order for the Siders to have a chance we have got to keep this thing within a score. This isn’t gonna be a 500 yard rushing night. Keep it close , don’t turn it over, no goofy penalties , and hope bishop, Parker, and Adkins can break off a couple big ones.

Gonna take a perfect game but that’s why they play the game. Big time rivalry game, lots of emotions, you never know.

Burg big. One-dimensional offenses do not beat Burg. West passing game has gotten a little better, but Burg is not going to let Parker/Bishop beat them. Expect them to stack the box and then trust their secondary to lock down West’s receivers.

Regardless of outcome of this game, I still think West can win a couple of games in D6 playoffs. Burg’s playoff run going to be dependent on being able to avoid HP round 1.*

As long as West is a running based team with minimal passing threats Burg will take care of them. Burg by 10+

West will need to keep things simple and do what they do best. Making major changes will not end good for them. West Defense will have to play their best game of the year to stop Burg!
I have noticed that this isn’t the same Burg Defense and I think West can have success running the ball all night. One key is to keep them off balance which is the same thing Burg like to try and do.
This could very well be a great game like a couple years ago and it could very well end the same as last year. All depends what teams show up.

West needs to turn it into a low scoring slugfest. Similar to the 14-7 contest West won last time Burg played at the Rock.

Burg needs to get off to a quick start and not let the game turn into that. Get a couple scores up, and West will struggle to come back.

Burg seems to be getting healthy finally. Should be another good game.

Burg by 21, West inability to pass will keep burg in the box and I think Burg can pass just well enough to burn the West secondary.

This pretty well sums up as to what I think that the outcome could be. If you are not comfortable throwing the ball, and all of a sudden it's game 10 of the season and you realize that you need to be able to both run and pass to have success in moving the ball, it doesn't always turn out to have a positive affect. With the playoffs just around the corner for both teams, let's really hope for an injury free game for both teams.

Look for Wheelersburg to throw more than usual and probably with a lot of success. West secondary really bad. It does look like West can run on this Pirates team, But for how long with a limited passing game. Special teams will ultimately decide the game if West can some slow the passing game IMO.

I’ve always told mine, lace them up and let the pads do the talking. It’s gonna be a very exciting game. Week 10 again to see who will hold that Gold ball. One thing I’ve seen from The Senators and it’s becoming contagious is they don’t quit. I really like West chances as long as we spread the rock and not go 1 dimensional with players.
