Re: Logan sneaks into playoffs at 1-9
The only thing needing tweaking or fixing is the number of teams allowed in. It should be eight. Make it an accomplishment again instead of a fund raiser for the OHSAA.
Hurting the feelings of the nadless wonders who are afraid to comment before the games.

Can Logan choose not to play this game? I doubt if that’s an option because OHSAA would be pissed that they would not get the $$, but it’s the best option if available.

I don't see any benefits in logan to playing this game. The Cons far out weight the Pros.

I've been interviewing former Chieftains for nearly 20 years about their memories playing for Logan.1987chieftains wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 12:01 am I don't see any benefits in logan to playing this game. The Cons far out weight the Pros.
One thing stands out in all those conversations: How often these men have a desperate desire to put the pads on again and to play again with their brothers.
What are the "cons" of playing on Friday night? Losing again? Injuries are in inherent risk in the game of football - but these guys could all get injured "cheerleading" in the powder puff game.
These young men have (at least) one more chance to put on the pads and helmets to play football with their brothers one more time.
Either there is extreme value in that - or former players have been lying to me for decades.
I agree that 16 is too man teams to make the playoffs. But they were the rules when the season started. This group earned the right to play an 11th game.
Maybe we should support the kids and coaches instead of telling them how dumb it is for them to play again?
Re: Logan sneaks into playoffs at 1-9
Actually three teams have already said they would not take the 16th seed and play Marion Local. Its an option but Logan has too much pride and history to take that route nor should theyOld Shorts wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 7:47 pm Can Logan choose not to play this game? The latest Region 28 saga - Lockland, Cedarville, and New Miami have all declined 16 seed playoff spots, therefore Ft. Recovery is next up and has officially accepted to play Marion Local in round one.Logangrad wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 12:31 pmActually three teams have already said they would not take the 16th seed and play Marion Local. I'm sure the seniors would want one last time to put on the pads. Leave it up to the kids.

Congratulations to Logan making the playoffs but I do not care who you are losing 63-0 in a playoff game is not good for any program.
I do not care if it is a regular season game or a playoff game and this being a playoff game may make it a slightly worse situation.
Good luck Logan hope nothing but the best for you.

I just happened to check the D-1 schools ( 64 total Schools ) that happened to sneak their way into the playoffs. There are 5 Schools that also have a 1-9 record, 3 in one Region alone.portsmouth_98 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 10:18 am More common in the bigger divisions it seems. If it happens in d5-d7 it's usually a Mac school and they are probably going to win out until they play another Mac school.

I would agree LL. I'm looking at it from an injury and the point of having to play a team that is more often then not going to dominate the bottom seeded team.loganlocos wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:16 amI've been interviewing former Chieftains for nearly 20 years about their memories playing for Logan.1987chieftains wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 12:01 am I don't see any benefits in logan to playing this game. Re: Logan sneaks into playoffs at 1-9
After reading what I had posted, I was not trying to demean Logan in anyway. Logan is only playing by the rules and the system that has been set up. I should not have used the word "sneak" when referring to the 5 Div-1 schools either, as they are also playing by the rules. Sometimes we maybe forget that there will be 458 schools playing in the playoffs, I'm sure that there are many schools that are not pleased with their won-lost record, yet it may very well be one of the only chances they will ever get to play in the playoffs.VetteMan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 10:14 pmI just happened to check the D-1 schools ( 64 total Schools ) that happened to sneak their way into the playoffs. Re: Logan sneaks into playoffs at 1-9
All these schools with a bad record will have players at one time in their lives can say they played in a play-off game. Now the ones that turn it down can say I should have played but we turned it down. That is when the others around just might roll their eyes and think----RIGHT

I dont care how many teams make the playoffs but there should be something that says you cant make it unless you have at least a .500 record

That’s funny. Many teams in this area of the state duck competition so they can pad a record. There are areas of the state where teams struggle to get .500 because of the competition. We sometimes have a team with a losing record beating a team with a winning record in the playoffs. And without question we have several teams with lesser records beating teams with much better winning records.
That snotty attitude is hilarious coming from SEO.

I wonder how many D2 schools will want to play NY in the future now? Win and you're in!

That is true. But a team with 1 win should never make the playoffsSugarDaddy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 8:51 amSuper trooper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 7:39 am I dont care how many teams make the playoffs but there should be something that says you cant make it unless you have at least a .500 record
