Re: Washington court house football
is Preston still around?
was he calling for discipline to be brought into WCH?
discipline wins although it is usually a rough start instilling discipline

there are a couple of names buzzing around court house. No one I know wants Preston anywhere around here.
Re: Washington court house football
Is there anyone on Everson's staff currently that would be a good fit? Or anyone local? Or do you think they look for someone not familiar with the program?go court house wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 11:13 am there are a couple of names buzzing around court house. I would like to think that some well-established coaches would want to work with Mr. Kimling, but maybe that isn't the case and the Blue Lions end up with just a small pool of candidates to find a coach for the 2025 season.

Coach Coe I think is the only one on the staff who would want to step up. I keep hearing a Richard Oakes name come up. Dont know much about him, just that he lives in Court House, coaches at Greenfield and has coached at a couple other schools over the years.FACSPORTS wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 2:55 pmIs there anyone on Everson's staff currently that would be a good fit? We may get surprised and Everson gets re-newed. I know he has support of most of the Admin but not the B.O.E.

Word on the street is Coach Everson is out at Washington. Nothing official from either him or the school though. So don't know how true

it is OFFICIAL. Coach Everson informed the team this morning that he will be stepping aside. Washington is one of those really tough places to coach. I hope whomever they hire is ready to take the heat.

Re: Washington court house football
Can I ask why? Before Williamson WCH was a sub par team. At least Williamson got them competing for league titles and won a playoff game. Why would you not want a chance to get that back? And please don't say "disciplined" issues. I have friends whose kids play for the team and they have said the discipline was horrible under Everson. Kids refusing to play JV, skipping practices and still playing Friday nights. Not being argumentative, just curious on your stand.go court house wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 9:33 am NOT A CHANCE. Washington court House has cyclical talent. they will have 3 or 4 good years followed by 3 or 4 down years. Discipline was surly and issue under Williamson. More on the field issues, too many personal fouls, unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Coach Everson, from what I saw did have some issues but I dont think to the Level Williamson had. Coach williamson also NEVER won big games either. Never beat London, Never beat Jackson, in fact his best team went to Jackson and never got off the bus. He beat the teams he should have beat and lost to the teams he should have lost to. He lost to Hillsboro multiple times, that just shouldnt happen. I will give hm credit, he brought back pride with the Miami Trace game.

I do not disagree with anything you just said, discipline was not perfect under Williamson by any means bt what high school coach has perfect discipline on their team? Also I agree he never won the "big game" as far as Jackson but was 6-1 or 7-1 I believe against Miami Trace. Since then? 0-2. I feel when you really look at the talent WCH provides people should be happy with 6-4 or an above .500 record. Which you're going to get with Williamson. Unless you think you can find some young energetic coach to take over the program but I do not see that happening at a place like Washington.go court house wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 10:20 am Washington court House has cyclical talent. they will have 3 or 4 good years followed by 3 or 4 down years. I agree with you 5-5, 6-4 should be the expectation here, with the 7-3, 8-2 thrown in there. I believe court house has been 8-2 or better only 4 times since 2000. Everson went 0-2 against Trace but lets put that into perspective. 2023 Court house was on their 3rd QB during the trace game still only lost by a touchdown. This year they were winning with under 2 minutes left in the game. They were not getting blown out. 4 of the games chuck coached against trace, court house had to mount 20+ point half time deficits to win. They were great games that he won but they were not east most of the time. Court House, like Trace, is a tough place to be. Sometimes the expectations dont line up to what you have.
Re: Washington court house football
Just doing a quick look on Joe Eitel over the last 15 years.
From 2016-2022, Chuck Williamson's record against teams that finished 5-5 or better was 12-19.
Chuck was 6-1 against Miami Trace
From 2009-2015, Corey Dye's record against teams that finished 5-5 or better was 7-30.
Corey was 2-5 against Miami Trace.
I'm not sure that the district would bring back Williamson or not. For WCH's standards, he had a pretty successful run, especially against the county rivals. Maybe Kimling would help Williamson keep the discipline in check if they were to bring Williamson back. I have heard that the previous AD Phipps was not a big disciplinarian and did not do much to try to help keep Chuck's teams in line, I feel Kimling would not be that way.
Ultimately I would be pretty surprised the see a Williamson reunion. I think that ship has sailed. Hopefully the Blue Lions have a solid pool of candidates to choose from.
