The narritive that FF is superior to Waterford is only pushed by the fort fans...which is completely understandable. To the victor goes the spoils ...However my take on this game:

Fort has some good athletes, Waterford has more
The best athlete on the field will be sophomore Hayden Jones (if you need a reason to come watch,' this guy would be the reason) Miller is
good..Jones is better.
Fort has two RB that break big plays up the field almost every game.
Waterford has the same with the Jones brothers
Waterford can and will pass if they want to
Fort hasnt passed enough to determine that... When they do it, is so unexpected that teams cant adjust quick enough
First meeting, Waterford had 5 turnovers, several missed opportunities, and a team in chaos from the week before
The Fort is playing the same football, same playbook, They are the same team from week 4 ( Please tell me they are not, I dare you)
Thus the keys to this game:
Both teams have to key on the playmakers
Both teams have outrageous playmakers
Both teams are very good
Turnovers wil be the game
I know this is a vanilla and boring prediction, no winner projection, but sometimes the simpilist things make all the difference
I agree that this matchup should be closer than it was earlier in the season as Waterford does appear to be peaking at the right time but to say “The narritive that FF is superior to Waterford is only pushed by the fort fans” is just not accurate. The All Time Series is 39-8 in forts favor with Fort out scoring the wildcats 1,234 to 419. The Jones Boys are a extremely talented duo no argument there but at the same time their numbers are similar if not identical
to Miller and Beardsley who have played a tougher schedule. TVC Hocking was down this year. Also looking back to the earlier matchup you say Waterford had opportunities. They didn’t get a first down until the third quarter also fort got burned by penalties and 35-6 could have been 45+ to 6. I mean no disrespect to Waterford and have been extremely impressed with the run they are on and truly expect a barn burner on Friday but the facts are the facts regardless if your blinders are on or not

If Waterford can hang close in the first half, then bust out that one formation and one play, they can win this. Well, it worked against Eastern anyway.

Get Real Jones is not better than Miller

Miller has 1508 yards rushing on over 11 yards a carry.

Waterford couldn’t even get a first down until the game was 35/0

Thanks for billboard material not that they needed it.

You do realize I'm referring to Hayden Jones correct?
The sophomore athlete who puts up pretty much the same numbers as Miller ( I really don't know the numbers, just pretty sure they are similiar and from previous posts)
As a quarterback
How many passing yards does Miller have?
How about total yards accounted for on the season?
Wouldn't we have to consider that as a metric?
If not , then what kind of numbers did Miller have as a sophomore quarterback (which currently he is not)?
That seems to be a metric we could use.
My assertion that HAYDEN Jones is the best athlete on the field is valid...not taking away from the awesomeness that is Clayton Miller nor Coleton Jones. Both are tremendous also..

He’s not the best athlete on the field will see Friday. You got the boys fired up. Like I said Waterford couldn’t even get a first down until the 3rd Qt when it was 35-0. Hayden had a great game Friday 273 yards is impressive. It took him 35 carries. Clayton would never need 35 Carries. His season high in touches was 18 carries for 318 yards vs Wheeling Central. You put Clayton on Waterford vs that TVC schedule and he would out stat Hayden in every cat. No offense to Hayden but he’s 5-4 150. Clayton is 6-1 200. Clayton is bigger stronger and faster. This is no disrespect to Hayden I think he’s phenomenal and already a legend.

When Clayton was a sophomore at Qb the Cadets had 4 first team all state players. Clayton didn’t need to carry the team. He had Owen Brown scoring 40 Tds

So if you think he's carrying this team, and we are getting ready to play you in the playoffs, then how is he not the best athlete?

If you didn't have the other athletes ( as you so pretty much suggested by that comment) and relied solely on Miller? Would you still be playing?

I was not referring to being superior based on performance...I was referring to the constant nose thumbing and attitudes fans have towards one another. Waterford fans have always felt like Fort has no respect for us.. Both teams fans root for the other when we play someone else ( seems a little lopsided but I'm sure it happens on that side too). Bottom line is ...what happens in the rivalry happens...no matter what happens we are still one community on both sides of the Muskingum river...No team we play like coming to our little spot because we both know how to play football. It's our river bend too not just the Fort

If you want respect you gotta earn it. Waterford hasn’t beat Fort since what, 2007? Fort has built a solid program in those years with a good amount of deep playoff runs. It’s not hard to see why a lot of people around the area view Fort as the better program. A win for Waterford this week would go a long ways in changing that mindset.

You don’t think Miller would put up better stats if he was in that role ? He might of ran for 400 if not more with 35 carries.

Looking forward to watching this game.

Rooting for fellow TVC rival Waterford in this one but I think the Cadets get the win.

I am sure both sides of the river are excited for this game.

Good luck and good health to both teams.

Rivalry aside I do love what Waterford has done as a program. I definitely respect them. I may make jokes here in there but it’s all in fun. I’m always one of the first people to defend Waterford on this site.
