Playoff Round 2: #10 Waverly (6-5) at #2 Gnadenhutten Indian Valley (11-0)

Post by Zahns Corner »

Waverly will make a long journey to Tuscarawas County to face the undefeated Indian Valley Braves.

Waverly advanced with a 28-21 victory over Fairfield Union while IV began their playoff journey cruising past Heath 40-15.

The Braves season schedule and results:

IV game vs. Ridgewood for those interested:

Waverly should be able to move the ball. The question as has been all season, can the Tiger defense get some stops.

Indian Valley run game is no joke. Running back Grady Kinsey is an absolute monster. Rushed for over 2,000 yard this season.

I know nothing about Waverly but I’ll take the Braves in a running clock.

I’ll say Waverly makes it interesting for a half before they just begin getting gashed on the ground as the game wears on. I think Indian Valley wins this region. I hope I am wrong however come Friday night

Kinsey is up over 2,300 on the year and GIV is averaging over 350 a game on the ground. Waverly has absolutely been abysmal at stopping the run this season I do think Waverly can put up some points but I'm not sure how many opportunities on offense they're going to have. Indian Valley by 21

Indian valley rb is a finalist for Mr Ohio football he hits the hole fast and has good power and speed. He will run iso on you guys and be 5 yards down the field before your guys react. If this game is within 40 I’ll be impressed.

Don’t think it’ll be as bad as some of you think, I expect the tigers to be able to score a couple times, but I’ll still take Indian valley by 21

Indian Valleys top RB won’t be suiting up for the matchup, he also didn’t last night… if that has any bearing on who you think wins this game.

End of the line for the tigers but at least they get another week of practice and get to compete again

The RB was suited up last game, he will play if they need him they just didn’t, and probably won’t this week either. They are loaded.

Is there a particular reason as to why he isn't suiting up?

He was dressed this past Friday, I even saw him warm up. They just didn’t need him

I had a chance to watch some of the Waverly/Fairfield Union stream and I am fairly confident that the Braves take this one easily. I've seen the Braves play several times this season and know how high powered their offense is. My predication is Braves 49-21.
