D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
Re: D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
My demographics might be out of date, but: If Waterford joined Fort Frye, I think it would be the 3rd largest village in the district. We can respect Waterford AND recognize Fort Frye should be able to field a better team.
Waterford is usually good enough to win any given year, but I think you care too much about being compared to Fort Frye.

Fort Frye has struggled with Injuries and numbers year. Almost every player had dealt with some kinds injury but that’s just football. Cadets been dressing 22-25 kids.

Beverly Srs have never lost to Waterford in football. The Lowell kids did lose in 5th grade. That was before the kids combined.

Please find me any Fort Frye fans touting any of our players as division 1 prospects.

Re: D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
Yea I don’t think anyone has ever said that about any players at the Fort.
Re: D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
Do you honestly think that i meant that. Sarcasm is hard to detect sometimes. I was simply demonstrating bias we both have for our teams when I commented that. This is what makes a rivalry healthy. This is what makes a game exciting to watch. I do hope that billboard material you are talking about distracts them in that way though. Coleton, Max, Treven, Zavier, and several others will have a great game if so.

The Lowell kids and the Beverly kids both lost to Waterford in the 6th grade...same group of seniors...neither went to the championship...Waterford diEasternDspy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 8:27 pm Beverly Srs have never lost to Waterford in football. This is the first year they have combined. Still lost to Waterford.

Give me a little bit and I'll start putting up the peewee numbers if you'd like

aye..as am I defending the Fort...as I posted earlier...we all root for one another...There absolutly is no hate...just healthy bantor..makes it fun..sibling rivalry funEasternDspy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 4:34 pmRivalry aside I do love what Waterford has done as a program. I definitely respect them. I may make jokes here in there but it’s all in fun. I’m always one of the first people to defend Waterford on this site.Chaw wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:40 pmI was not referring to being superior based on performance...I was referring to the constant nose thumbing and attitudes fans have towards one another. Waterford fans have always felt like Fort has no respect for us.. Both teams fans root for the other when we play someone else ( seems a little lopsided but I'm sure it happens on that side too). Bottom line is ...what happens in the rivalry happens...no matter what happens we are still one community on both sides of the Muskingum river...No team we play like coming to our little spot because we both know how to play football. It's our river bend too not just the FortMOVguy246 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 9:11 am
I agree that this matchup should be closer than it was earlier in the season as Waterford does appear to be peaking at the right time but to say “The narritive that FF is superior to Waterford is only pushed by the fort fans” is just not accurate. The All Time Series is 39-8 in forts favor with Fort out scoring the wildcats 1,234 to 419. The Jones Boys are a extremely talented duo no argument there but at the same time their numbers are similar if not identical
to Miller and Beardsley who have played a tougher schedule. TVC Hocking was down this year. Also looking back to the earlier matchup you say Waterford had opportunities. They didn’t get a first down until the third quarter also fort got burned by penalties and 35-6 could have been 45+ to 6. I mean no disrespect to Waterford and have been extremely impressed with the run they are on and truly expect a barn burner on Friday but the facts are the facts regardless if your blinders are on or not
Re: D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
You are actually proving my point about the nose thumbing ...you cant accept the fact that Waterfortd has a better athlete at all
sophomore vs. senior same numbers ?? Doesnt look good on you.

Re: D6 23: 5. Waterford (9-2) @ 4. Fort Frye (8-3)
Waterford has had some better individual athletes over the years, but never enough of them. It almost never translates into football wins.
Do you have statistics for carries and total yards?

It’s not apples to apples. Hayden is the main focal point of the team. Clayton was just a clog in one of the best Fort Frye teams ever. If Hayden was a soph on that team he wouldn’t have started over Clayton. So stats as a sophomore are irrelevant. Now if you put Clayton on Waterford team as a soph and give him 35 Qb runs he might go for 400. I’m just going to stop because now I’m giving billboard material.

Waterford is 0-17 against FF in the McCutcheon era. He has not beat them. And probably never will.
FF comes better prepared, adjusts better in the game and exploits the waterford run game. I’m not sure but I don’t think Waterford had positive yardage in the first matchup in the first half other than penalty yardage committed by FF.
Waterford runs- and their pass game could be effective if they used it. Jones has an arm but doesn't have WR on the field that can catch balls that hit them square in the numbers or hands. And their “ #1 WR “ caught his first TD pass this past Friday? Jones didn’t throw a TD pass until week 6 I think. May be time to look for some new WR. I’m sure there are some in that almost 40 kid roster.
Waterford has way too many weapons that they don’t utilize. Zimmer kid, Johnson, Pennock, and I know there are more that probably never see the field. Which is ridiculous. For a small school- they have a big team but only play 11-13 on both sides of the ball? I don’t think the younger jones kid comes off the field at all. He plays almost every position other than the line. (Punt kicker, punt returner, QB, backfield defense)
FF builds their team around their talent. Which is why they have success. They obviously have incredible talent with miller, Bradford, Beardsley- Huck does a great job with building a game plan & running plays that capitalize on his athletes talent and athleticism. You can’t teach athleticism but you can teach football. And that’s one thing Huck has over Waterford. He out coaches them - every time.

Why are we worried about the past years. The almost unstoppable offense has been on a roll sense week 4. Waterford has found there identity and they will continue to be almost unstoppable.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 10:40 pm Battle for the River

They played this year. That unstoppable offense did nothing for 3 QTs. Fort line dominated the line of scrimmage.NotFunnyAtAll wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 12:25 pmWhy are we worried about the past years. The almost unstoppable offense has been on a roll sense week 4. Week 4, that’s irrelevant. This was the first year for waterford offense. They have now played 11 games with it. Gonna be a different story with the almost unstoppable offense. But glad you Fort Frye fans live in the past.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 12:34 pmThey played this year. That unstoppable offense did nothing for 3 QTs.
