Wk 14: (9-4) Wheelersburg vs. (12-1) Ironton

Post by The Nature Boy »

Well, here we are. Burg back in the Regional Final against a familiar foe. A lot has changed since week 1. Burgs gotta clean up the pass D to have a shot. What are everyone's thoughts

does this go to portsmouth. Is green possible since they got turf or are their stands way too small

I would think Portsmouth. Maybe Jackson.

Jackson I'd say

Ironton probably a little too much still. Remember early on when everyone thought Burg was dead in the water and would struggle to finish above .500? Yeah.....they're safe there lol.

Ironton should win, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if Burg stole a win in this one.

Also, agree with the above. Game should be at Jackson or Portsmouth. Not sure if this would fly with OHSAA, but I wonder if Marshall (not sure if they're home, off, or away this coming weekend) would allow the game to be played at the Joan to accommodate a bigger crowd

Burg just needs to play mistake free and a clean game. If they can do that, I think they can stay in the game and hope for a break or two.

They should definitely not use an Ohio school, but a university in WVa should get the concession and parking money for hosting. Great call.

Will Wheelersburg make the playoffs?

I’d love to see this one out at the Hill. To send these 2 schools to Jackson would be terrible. Portsmouth or Rock Hill, let’s do this.

I feel Green would be too small. Their visitor’s side is okay, but their home side is still too small, in my opinion.

Personally, I feel Rock Hill would be the perfect place for this game. Literally as close to the middle of the two schools you can get. Home side could accommodate Ironton and fans that just want to see a good football game. Away is no smaller than Portsmouth’s away bleachers.

Right. Have the OHIO playoffs out of state. That's so idiotic. Think about what you just said.

Any chance of it being in Chillicothe?

Ironmen92 would probably know for sure, but I'm not sure that Jackson even put in to host this year.

Not sure if true, but heard Valley had put in to host a playoff game. Would make as much sense as anywhere if Jackson not in the running.*

Ho buddy, here we go again. Ironton vs Burg for the Regional Championship. Before this page inevitably just turns into the usual nonsense just want to congratulate Burg on their run so far. Wherever it is at, see y’all Friday!

Congrats to IHS as well. Especially kudos for beating down HP!!

Burg will be a big underdog, but happy they have the opportunity.

Here’s to hoping the game is at Jackson. Would love the accommodation for both fanbases.
