Similarly to burg football "talent" burgs self professed academic excellence doesnt translate at the collegiate level because the average median income in Wheelersburg is around 64,000.00. which is classic poverty line peanut wages. Burg isnt committed to anything but mediocrity in real life. The only place they get gassed up for anything is on seops. Lol. If i ever average 65k a year id jump off a bridge. Lmao

Burgs population is decreasing by over 2%
And most of their residents are completely reliant on jobs and industry outside of burg. Its all gas. Lol
Median income means nothing unless compared to cost of living. It’s not how much you make, it’s purchasing power that matters. Let me guess, you are weak in economics and math as well?
Theres nothing in burg even remotely economically promising. Nothing.

And the high school football is awful. Lol

92 to 7.
And yet Burg has the highest median income and housing prices in the area. Along with the best academics while also being good in all sports.

Let’s look at Burg’s fall accomplishments:
- Regional runner-up in football
- Regional runner-up in volleyball
- Regional runner-up in boys soccer
- Regional semi-finalist in girls soccer
- Regional qualifier in cross country

So an average year but still the best overall performance of any school in SEO while also maintaining the best academics in the area. For most schools in Ohio, this would be their highlights over the past 10+ years. For Burg, this is just another fall.

Your jealousy of Burg is showing. You know down deep that Burg is a shining example of excellence, and it eats you up inside.

If you were a Burg grad, you would have been considered bottom of the barrel material. Although most Ironton fans on here consider you bottom of the barrel material as well. :)

Good grief, this thread is about Ironton winning the D5 State Championship, which hasn’t been done since 2017 by a Southeastern Ohio team. How about congratulating the Fighting Tigers on their win. This thread is getting out of hand. Crazy!!

You are embarrassing yourself. I am starting to feel bad for you. Bragging about not winning regions?

With all do respect to the kids that play those sports. None of them, come close to drawing the attention football does. Ask anyone in Wheelersburg Football, they would have traded all of those " accomplishments" to beat Ironton just ONE time :D

Bragging about Soccer on a football thread? Nobody cares about soccer, or cross country. Deep down you know that yourself lol

SOFTburg should stick to volleyball, quizbowls, spelling bees, and chess team. I trust those burgers are not flopping around on the turf after every other play vs good teams in their region. Lol

From a dollars perspective, I agree.

However, many at Burg have the same feelings about Pendleton that Ashland and the OVC schools do. Regardless if the recruiting is true or not, many in power believe it to be so and want IHS off the schedule. Others at Burg want the game to be played, but those numbers seem to be shrinking.

Will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
How many players have Burg recruited or enticed from other Scioto Co schools over the past 25 years? One burg poster, Yabbadabbado, asked to name one. A few Minford posters came on and named 15-20 players, some only basketball, that burg immediately plugged in as starters. One poster named 3 football players came from Minford in one year and were starters, but yet the finger-pointing from burg continues. A West poster named a few that came from the Senator program. Another poster named several basketball players from both Minford and S. Webster. It is very hypocritical for burg posters to point fingers at Ironton and accuse them of recruiting when burg has been guilty of this for decades. The burg posters need to look in the mirror and stop their sanctimonious BS.

Although, it doesn't surprise me that ppl in burg feel this way b/c it's just SO much different when burg does it, just b/c they're so much better and the rules don't apply to them. Ironton just got better at enticing kids to want to transfer to their program and now all we hear is burg posters crying b/c they just got brought back down to earth. Burg posters need to get over themselves and go take a hard look in the mirror.
Those numbers are hilarious and completely wrong. Burg hasn’t had 20-25 transfer-ins in the history of the program! Let alone from Minford.

One, people forget Burg was the last school in the area to open their borders. For the longest time, Burg’s CB would have been zero!

Second, let’s talk actual numbers instead of your hyperbole. Current CB numbers:
- Minford: 10
- Burg: 13 (Burg also had zero move-ins)

Yep, Burg is really raiding Minford. LOL!!
We are speaking about the behavior of burg's program in the past; and YES, Burg has "Raided other Scioto Co schools." You are throwing stones at Ironton when you live in a big ol' glass house of your own. The Scioto Co posters, mainly Minford, were challenged and they named them starting from the mid-1990s Reinhardt kid who went to Ohio U as a RB, then Mayhew a few years later. I emailed a friend who coached out there and the 3-kids from Minford in one single year that all were plugged in as starters were CJ Adkins, Dustin Robertson, and Walker. The Cowgill kid from Minford was the MVP player on burg's Basketball team that went to the state. A few years later a S. Webster kid was the MVP of Burg's Basketball team. So stop with your sanctimonious BS and go look in the mirror

What we are gradually discovering is all that "homegrown" "high integrity" nonsense SOFTburg fans spew is mostly fraudulent. Burg is as phony off the field as they are on the field. Lol

And yet Burg has the highest median income and housing prices in the area. Along with the best academics while also being good in all sports.

Let’s look at Burg’s fall accomplishments:
- Regional runner-up in football
- Regional runner-up in volleyball
- Regional runner-up in boys soccer
- Regional semi-finalist in girls soccer
- Regional qualifier in cross country

So an average year but still the best overall performance of any school in SEO while also maintaining the best academics in the area. For most schools in Ohio, this would be their highlights over the past 10+ years. For Burg, this is just another fall.

I keep my analysis factual.

Wheelersburg football has only made it past their region 4 times in over 40 years.

Wheelersburg is 1 & 16 vs Ironton, Jackson, & Harvest Prep combined over the last four seasons.

Ironton jammed a running clock down Softburgs throat, not once, but twice in 2024, for a combined final score of 92 to 7.

It took wheelersburg football their entire programs history to match the 79 and 89 state titles Ironton accumulated under Lutz in ten seasons.

And now Ironton has three and enroute to their 3rd title, embarrassed Softburg 55 to 0 in the playoffs.

The comparsion of these two programs is and always will be ridiculous.

Softburg is and always will be the envious and mouthy little sister that cant really hang.

And meanwhile, as Ironton is trying to schedule Marion Local, Softburg is trying to run away from competitive programs in their own region.

Comparing Ironton & burg is an insult to Ironton.

If you were an Ironton fan your program would not have gotten 92 flopped on ya face. 🤣🤣
That RBH dude is really angry. Haven’t seen hatred like he has for Ironton in forever. You been hitting a nerve with him and getting him all flustered. The longer his posts are the more flustered he is. But he tell us how good Burgs softball team is so that makes it all good.
Not angry at all. Actually came to this thread initially to compliment Terry for his amazing performance. Of course the stooge and the man of many names chimed in wanting to talk about Wheelersburg.

Had no intention of talking about Burg, but many posters on here from IHS seem bent on doing so. Not sure why, but the obsession is real.

Pulling a few names from the 90’s is the best you have? I can give you more names that have left Burg. LOL. Burg lost three kids this year alone to other schools while gaining zero!

Sorry, but the numbers don’t back your claim. Neither do the number of transfers which you seem to struggle to point out.

I tried to pay Ironton and specifically Terry a compliment. Go back and look at my initial post. This is what you get from some at IHS. Even a compliment is not accepted. LOL!!

One title in 35 years. That’s awesome!! Great job. I guess IHS does have the bowling and golf titles, although these are sports that out of shape middle aged men play while drinking and smoking. :)

And it only took packing half the roster with kids outside of Ironton and bringing in a Burg coach to run the offense. LOL!
