Why do you say that? the largest school DVII Marion Local faced this year was a DV school which was 5-6 Versailles. I don't have a crystal ball, and neither does anyone else but the fact of the matter is, it's like arguing who would have won, Muhammed Ali or Rocky Marciano if they faced each other (I heard Ali with my own two ears say he didn't know if he could have won against Marciano, he said that would respect and humility that wasn't usually found in his created persona everyone loved so much)

I'd love to see these two teams play each other, I'll make the drive.
I wouldnt get too hung up on the largest school Marion Local faced.
16-0 with 10 SHUTOUTS - 10 shutouts is pretty impressive regardless of which division or who they played.
Marion Local beat D6 State Champion (15-1) Coldwater 35-0
Coldwater beat D4 (9-3) Valleyview 38-0
Coldwater beat D4 (9-3) Massie 31-15
Valleyview and Massie were top 4 seeds in region 16.
Coldwater beat D6 (15-1) Kirtland in the State Championship game 31-7
Impressive what Coldwater did - but ML beat them 35-0

How many shut outs could Ironton had laid on teams if they didn’t call the dogs off? We will never know either way but I, for one, are confidant to say I believe Ironton would have came out on top over Marion Local this year.

They ‘maybe’ have no desire to play Ironton next year, week 1? Sounds like they’re like a person who doesn’t want anyone to cut their cake because it’s so pretty. Oh they need goaded into scheduling the Tigers!

This year’s CM team? Not as good as LC. Ironton would have beaten CM without much trouble.

But most year’s CM is a much bigger, better version of LC. Let’s not forget that CM has won state in 2012, 2013, and 2021. They are not a chump program by any means.

As for scheduling, this would be a good team for IHS to pick up.

I don’t believe ML is worried about their streak. Given the coach was a math teacher, I assume he will base their first game on what makes the most sense financially and conveniently (less travel). Very logical approach to the decision.

Read online that ML’s upcoming classes will be some of the best in their history. Given they just won state 74-0, that is a scary thought!

Martinsburg ( wv) would beat the breaks off Marion Local. And Martinsburg is likely easier to schedule. Ironton should schedule Martinsburg. The Bulldogs are road warriors.

Martinsburg would not dominate Ml. They would lose to ML. Ohio football is in another universe compared to wv football.

ML would struggle to execute their gameplan and how they do things with the depth and talent of Martinsburgs athletes. Too deep. Too big. Too fast.
