So let me get this straight, you ask a question then someone gives you a response and you say they're wrong and you're doing your research. Why even ask the question then?? Most schools in the area I can think of where I know the AD off the top of my head at least are AD's only, now that's not to say they don't have a teaching degree or master's whatever the case might be. Guys I know are simply AD's, now is that to say they ALL are absolutely not but just the surrounding schools off the top of my head are. Don't come on here and say I'm wrong especially when I know the guys and their role with the school. Ask a question you get a response don't like the response you should probably do your research first, make sure you skew those numbers to support your argument though.

Likely more, most people are just going off the top of their heads; it just isn’t that unusual. I’m certainly not going to go and look up every school; the guy asked if there were any and there are several. It was just someone asking and answering a question until I guess he didn’t like the answer?

According to my information, most of these AD’s on this list has either a teacher and/or principal license.

This number is not remotely close. I’d guess 65-70% are AD only, 25% also are an assistant principal or transportation director , and a handful are still supplemental positions with teaching duties.

Why would an AD be considered administrators if they don't have a valid administrator license in the state of Ohio? There are no career fields where a person has a job or title without the proper credentials and/or license.

There is no way 65-70% of AD's have no other job requirements all day long while school is in session. I have found 5 in SEO region right now out of 70+ schools but I have still have some to look into.

Why would an AD be considered administrators if they don't have a valid administrator license in the state of Ohio? There are no career fields where a person has a job or title without the proper credentials and/or license.

Whatever they are labeled, Ohio does not require an administrator or teacher license/certification for Athletic Directors.

AD’s put in a crazy amount of hours and can be a thankless position. Sounds like sour grapes.

I do not think you are remotely close. There may be one AD only in the SOC that I am aware of. I would love to see the numbers on how many schools around here pay someone to do nothing but AD work. I do not think it is even close to 50%.

You claim 5-10% are just teachers and AD's. Mr. Floyd has 71 teams in his rankings. That means 4-7 of the AD's in the SE are teachers and AD's.

Valley's is a gym teacher and AD.
Minford =Intervention Specialist and AD.
Northwest = Gym Teacher and AD.
Piketon = Gym Teacher and AD.
West = Psychology/Sociology teacher and AD.
ND = Teacher and AD
Symmes Valley = Science teacher and AD.
North Adams = Social Studies and AD.

So there is 8 I found just doing some quick google searches. I want to see the numbers, but I would be surprised if 50% of the AD's in the SE district are strictly employees of the school to do nothing but athletics.
