Are you a "Twitter person?"

Post by Wing-T Coach »

The topic for this week's #wingtchat is "Scripting the Wing-T Offense." Do you script your plays in the game? In practice? How do you arrive at those plays? Do you deviate, and why?

Chris Brooks (@wingtfootball) and I (@wingtcoachdon) would love for you to chime in on Thursday at 8:30 P.M. EST, 5:30 P.M. PST on Twitter. Just search for #wingtchat.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Don

Well maybe it is time to branch out, brother! :D

Thursday's topic is the scripting of plays, in games and in practice, which is not exclusive to the Wing-T. It should be a valuable conversation, even if you just "watch."

Search #wingtchat on google OR Twitter.

What is the "Twitter?" Is that a bird or something?

Wing-t chat on tweeter? Is this some kind of joke?

Thanks, but I don't think this tweeter is gonna work out here. Maybe you do the chat on seops!

Besides who runs the wing-t anymore? Isn't it outdated and archaic?

The wing T is definitely NOT outdated. Their are plenty of teams who use it and use it very well.

The wing T presents a lot of challenges for any defense.

It's not about what offense you run but rather that you run an offense that matches the talent you have and then it's all about execution and having a solid game plan.

I'm a wishbone guy myself. I love option football!!

This board has some heavy traffic. Lots of "clicks" from the region on the Wing-T clinic flyer, so I suspected some interest in the Wing-T.

If you aren't into Twitter, then that is cool. If you are into Twitter, it can be "fun" and easy to learn from and interact with others. There is an OL/DL chat called #hogfbchat, a new one for the option (#meshpoint), one for general defense (#swarmfnchat), and #wingtchat, of course.

All I know for sure is that every time I visit seops, I think of the Scioto Ribber, and then I'm happy. ;)

As a fan this is the one offense I can not stomach to watch, unless a fast team is running it.

I have watched to many slow type teams run it, with a QB, who can handle the ball but has little or no speed.

I always found the Wing T to be an equalizer for teams lacking in physical size. As LCF points out, a modicum of quickness is needed to pull it off. Also, in some areas, so few schools run the WT that opponents have difficulty in preparing to defend it.
