Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Thought about him but couldn't remember his classmates and how good they were. That line was very good. Keith Sickles and Brett Rippeth were very good players then too for lineman.Ironmen44 wrote:Offensive:

Easily the hardest schedule for a D3 team in our area. No one else even close. Jackson lost some great players but have classes coming in waves .
7-3 - 10-0 for the red and white

Saw where they have an 8th grader that has an offer from Kentucky already
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
There will be a lot of tough games . But the ironmen who have decided to put the program first are really working. Jackson will have a long grind of a season . But kuddos for playing the teams they play .
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Great schedule overall, in my opinion. The Winton Woods game is as good as it gets for a D3 program looking to realistically challenge itself. WW won the D2 state title in 2009, they consistently play some of the best teams in Cincinnati, and they're supposed to be loaded with D1 talent next season. Cabell Midland is clearly one of the best programs in West Virginia, and there has been no one in SE Ohio more consistent in recent years than Wheelersburg.EagleFan89 wrote:Jackson 2016
8/27 A Wellston
9/2 A Chillicothe
9/9 H West Jefferson
9/16 H Mount Orab Western Brown
9/23 A Wheelersburg
9/30 H Vincent Warren
10/7 H Logan
10/14 H Pomeroy Meigs
10/22 H Cincinnati Winton Woods
10/28 H Ona Cabell Midland
look ok?
I think the schedule is difficult, and balanced overall, but two of the three toughest opponents are definitely in the final two weeks. If Jackson is able to win enough games to make the playoffs, I think they will have prepared themselves as well as possible for the playoffs. The Ironmen will definitely need to bring their "A" game each week, though, to make sure that they see Week 11.

Looking for some big time leadership from seniors such as Cody Roseberry , cam Williams , Billy cooper , Caden frisby , and many many others
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
You can not worry about who's not all playing . Whoever shows up in August ready to play football is our 2016 ironmen .
Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016
Yeah, we've already lost the 2nd best defensive player last year. Would hate for the best not to play.Roadhog wrote:I sure hope Cooper plays...

Without potter , sexton , and Massie in the backfield this year , who does Jackson have that can tote the rock ?
I know 4 year letterman and burner Johnny Farley will be back
Perhaps Billy cooper could move to fullback
Some sophomores who run hard but may not be ready for that level

Which I'm VERY happy about. The old turf design was nice, but I definitely wanted more red this time around.Ironman92 wrote:About 1/3 of the new turf down. The end zone is brilliant red

Maybe new turf will make them look faster, but last year they looked really slow on film.
